Description
In an immunocompetent patient, disease is manifested as a self-limiting gastroenteritis. However, immunocompromised patients can develop protracted severe gastroenteritis, which can lead to severe wasting and ultimately death. In addition, immunocompromised patients can have disease of the pulmonary and biliary tracts as well as disseminated disease.
