Idiopathic condylar resorption. Report of a case.

Abstract

Idiopathic condylar resorption, progressive resorption of the mandibular condyles, is discussed. A case treated with alloplastic total temporomandibular joint replacement devices is presented. The case report includes six-year follow-up. The patient's mandibular retrusion, anterior open bite, malocclusion and totally resorbed mandibular condyles were successfully treated in a single-stage operation with alloplastic total temporomandibular joint replacement devices
