- Incremental Prognostic Value of White Matter Hyperintensity Beyond Coronary Artery Disease Reporting and Data System for Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events. [Journal Article]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: An elevated WMH was related to a higher risk of MACE in patients with suspected or established CAD. Moreover, WMH demonstrated additional prognostic value for MACE beyond CAD-RADS.

- Peritumoral Edema Outperforms Solid Tumor for Predicting TERTp Mutation in IDH Wild-Type Gliomas: A Multiparametric Diffusion MRI Histogram Study with Prognostic Analysis. [Journal Article]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Diffusion histogram models provided high discrimination for IDH status in both regions. Peritumoral edema models offered superior TERTp prediction in IDH wild-type gliomas, while selected peritumoral features provided prognostic information in the overall cohort.

- Periprocedural Cardiac Hemodynamic Changes and Clinical Outcomes After Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt. [Journal Article]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 21. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with relatively preserved baseline cardiac function following appropriate pre-TIPS cardiovascular assessment, TIPS was associated predominantly with mild and transient right-sided cardiac changes, without significant deterioration in conventional left ventricular systolic function. The low incidence of clinically overt cardiac decompensation observed during follow-up suggests an acceptable cardiac risk profile in appropriately evaluated patients.

- Nurse-Led Gastric Preparation for Gas-Negative-Contrast Volume-Rendered Three-Dimensional Virtual Endoscopy-Like Gastric Imaging on Photon-Counting CT: A Prospective Randomized Clinical Study. [Journal Article]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 21. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Nurse-led PCCT gastric preparation can be customized for different imaging objectives. Six grams of effervescent powder is preferable for gas-VRT virtual endoscopic imaging, while 3 g may be sufficient for routine gastric evaluation. Under the same 6 g preparation protocol, PCCT provided lower image noise, higher SNR/CNR, and clearer gastric wall layer visualization than EID-CT, suggesting platform-specific value beyond gastric distension alone. Water assistance may benefits antral cross-sectional assessment but did not improve gas-VRT imaging.

- MRI Interpretation of Suspected Pediatric Acute Appendicitis: The Role of Pediatric Subspecialty Training. [Journal Article]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 21. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists had higher specificity, positive predictive value, and accuracy than non-pediatric emergency radiologists for MRI diagnosis of suspected pediatric AA, with a small difference in interpretation time (median, 24 seconds). These findings, based on a limited number of readers, suggest differences in subspecialty expertise and aims and support further multicenter evaluation.

- Reporting of Fairness and Equity in Studies of Regulator-cleared Commercial AI for Acute Stroke CT: A Systematic Review. [Review]Acad Radiol. 2026 Oct 21. [Online ahead of print]AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Subgroup performance was rarely reported in the included peer-reviewed evaluations. The finding of positive predictive value differences in one study is insufficient to characterize fairness across products. Missing subgroup and training-population reporting limits assessment of fairness, but does not establish that the evaluated systems are inequitable.
