- Updated systematic review and meta-analysis comparing Myval versus Sapien 3 transcatheter heart valves in severe aortic stenosis: focus on early and one-year mortality. [Review]Acta Cardiol. 2026 Oct 12; :1-12. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: This updated meta-analysis demonstrates that the newer Myval valve offers comparable early safety and one-year survival to the established Sapien 3 valve, with superior and sustained hemodynamic performance. These findings support its role as a safe and effective alternative in the TAVI landscape.

- Effect of a single high-concentration sodium bicarbonate bolus on contrast-induced nephropathy in STEMI patients undergoing Primary PCI: a prospective randomized study. [Journal Article]Acta Cardiol. 2026 Oct 10; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: Sodium bicarbonate administration was associated with a lower unadjusted incidence of CIN. These findings should be considered hypothesis-generating and require confirmation in larger multicentre studies.

- Time trend in hospitalisations for acute myocardial infarction among young adults in Brazil: 2015-2024. [Journal Article]Acta Cardiol. 2026 Oct 07; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: The study indicates an upward trend in AMI in the young Brazilian population, reiterating the epidemiological transition, which points to the urgent need to reorient public health policies, focusing on early prevention, timely diagnosis and reducing social and racial inequalities that influence cardiovascular risk in young people.

- Association of left atrioventricular coupling index with mortality in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. [Journal Article]Acta Cardiol. 2026 Oct 06; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: Elevated LACI was associated with increased all-cause mortality and adverse cardiac remodelling in patients with HFpEF. As a practical echocardiographic parameter, LACI may provide additional information on atrioventricular and atrial remodelling. These hypothesis-generating findings require confirmation in larger prospective studies.

- Slow pathway and atrioventricular nodal bumping in the setting of cryoablation of atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia. [Journal Article]Acta Cardiol. 2026 Sep 22; :1-7. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: Slow pathway bumping is a frequent phenomenon in the setting of cryocatheter ablation of AVNRT. It might explain the higher recurrence rate compared with radiofrequency (RF) when cryomapping is done during sinus rhythm rather than during ongoing tachycardia. It may also explain some cases of tachycardia non inducibility at the baseline. It also has implications when the ablation is done with radiofrequency current: in the case an accelerated nodal rhythm is absent after energy application but tachycardia is no more inducible slow pathway bumping may also be considered.
