- Ultrasound-guided glossopharyngeal nerve block for safe and effective anesthesia in a critically ill patient with acute myocardial infarction undergoing urgent endoscopy. [Case Reports]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):302-305.AGRI
- Glossopharyngeal nerve block (GPNB) can provide effective anesthesia for procedures involving the oropharynx and upper airway. Ultrasound-guided GPNB (UGPNB) may be particularly useful when conventional sedation or topical anesthesia is undesirable because of the risk of respiratory or cardiovascular complications. In this article, we report the use of UGPNB as an alternative anesthetic technique…

- Application of cervical epidural blood patch for spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leaks: Two case reports. [Case Reports]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):298-301.AGRI
- Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks are uncommon but significant causes of orthostatic headaches, often resulting from dural injuries. Although lumbar epidural blood patches (EBPs) are commonly used to treat such leaks, cervical EBPs are rarely performed due to the higher risk of complications, including spinal cord injury. This case series presents two patients with spontaneous cervical …

- Refractory complex regional pain syndrome resulting in amputation with dermatosis neglecta: A case report. [Case Reports]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):292-297.AGRI
- Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a painful condition which may develop after trauma. A 28-year-old male patient with severe hand pain that persisted despite long-term and multidisciplinary treatment was admitted to our clinic. The patient had severe pain and cutaneous findings. His extreme cutaneous findings were diagnosed as dermatosis neglecta (DN) associated with CRPS. To the best of o…

- CONCLUSIONS: AĞRI demonstrates procedural maturation, institutional decentralization, and female corresponding authorship near parity, suggesting no apparent glass ceiling. Departmental leadership surpluses require confirmation with seniority and governance indicators.

- Investigation of the role of Z944 related to muscarinic receptors on hyperalgesia in rats. [Journal Article]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):272-281.AGRI
- CONCLUSIONS: The attenuation of the analgesic effect of Z944 by the non-selective muscarinic receptor antagonist atropine suggests that the analgesic activity of Z944 may be mediated, at least in part, through muscarinic receptor-dependent mechanisms.

- Association of escitalopram prophylaxis with pain intensity in tension-type headache: A retrospective, comparative cohort study. [Journal Article]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):264-271.AGRI
- CONCLUSIONS: Escitalopram prophylaxis was associated with lower pain intensity after approximately three months. As treatment allocation was non-randomized and baseline pain severity differed between groups, the findings should be interpreted cautiously. Escitalopram warrants further investigation in patients who cannot tolerate or are unsuitable for first-line prophylactic treatments.

- CONCLUSIONS: Our study results suggest that the Turkish version of the APS is a valid, reliable, and unidimensional measurement instrument which can be used to assess pain in dementia patients receiving treatment in intensive care.

- Factors associated with treatment success following shoulder intra-articular steroid injections. [Journal Article]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):247-256.AGRI
- CONCLUSIONS: Intra-articular corticosteroid injections do not consistently yield favorable outcomes in patients with adhesive capsulitis. Neither central sensitization nor composite comorbidity scores appear to be reliable predictors of treatment failure. However, the presence of additional degenerative changes, such as acromioclavicular joint degeneration, may be associated with poorer outcomes.

- CONCLUSIONS: Both TFESI and P-ILESI appear to be effective and safe approaches for the treatment of radicular pain associated with LDH. The choice of epidural approach should be individualized according to clinical and anatomical considerations, as well as operator experience.

- CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that the ID regimen in SBPB with ropivacaine resulted in prolonged analgesia and motor blockade, lower pain scores, reduced analgesic consumption, and improved quality of recovery compared to the OD regimen.

- Regional anesthesia for shoulder surgery: A narrative review on current techniques and clinical considerations. [Review]Agri. 2026 Oct 01; 38(4):215-225.AGRI
- An aging population and longer lifespans have markedly increased the number of shoulder surgeries. Technological advances have made arthroscopic techniques increasingly prominent owing to their minimally invasive nature and lower risk to surrounding structures. Effective postoperative pain management is, therefore, essential and has prompted continued advances in nerve block techniques. Although …
