  • Association Between Cardiac Computed Tomography-Detected Patent Foramen Ovale and Risk of Ischemic Stroke. [Journal Article]
    Am J Cardiol. 2026 Oct 04. [Online ahead of print]Ueno T, Tanaka S, … Noda TAJ
  • Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is associated with embolic stroke; however, the prognostic significance of PFO detected by cardiac computed tomography (CT) remains unclear. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the association between CT-detected PFO and subsequent ischemic stroke risk, and to assess its agreement with transthoracic echocardiography with agitated saline (Bubble-TTE). We retrospecti…
  • Drug-Eluting Resorbable Scaffolds for Infrapopliteal Peripheral Artery Disease: A State-of-the-Art Review. [Review]

  • Drug-eluting resorbable scaffolds (DRS) have been developed to overcome the key limitations of conventional endovascular therapies for below-the-knee peripheral artery disease (PAD), including acute recoil, restenosis, and the sequela of long-term permanent metallic implants. DRS provides a temporary mechanical support and localized antiproliferative drug delivery after which the scaffold is grad…
  • Decreases in Left Atrial Strain with Mavacamten Therapy and Associations with Atrial Fibrillation. [Journal Article]
    Am J Cardiol. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]Lewontin M, Betz Y, … Ayers MAJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Decreases in LAS seen with mavacamten may be downstream effects of alterations to other hemodynamic parameters, a decline in atrial function, or a combination thereof. LAS reductions may therefore represent harmful effects on the left atrium or neutral byproducts of other changes, although the association between LAS and AF is notable and may highlight prognostic implications of strain measurements in this population.
