- Vascular Proliferation Index Via a Single-Cell Analysis Is a Superior Prognostic Biomarker to Microvessel Density in Stage II/III Colorectal Cancer. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5505-5515.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: VPI via single-cell analysis is a superior, independent prognostic biomarker to MVD for the DFS in Stage II/III CRC, offering an objective platform for postoperative recurrence risk stratification.

- Clinical Outcomes of Ramucirumab Plus Taxane After Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy in HER2-negative Advanced Gastric Cancer. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5619-5629.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Although poor performance status was associated with worse survival, RAM plus taxane demonstrated meaningful antitumor activity, regardless of response to prior ICI-based treatment. These findings suggest that RAM plus taxane may warrant consideration as a treatment option in this setting.

- Hyperthermia Enhances the Effects of ICI by Increasing PD-L1 Expression Through Induction of CD8[+] Cell Infiltration. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5399-5410.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Hyperthermia potentially enhances PD-L1 expression by increasing the efficiency of CD8[+] cell infiltration into tumors and induces a strong antitumor effect in combination with an ICI.

- Predicting Chemoresistance in HER2-low Breast Cancer: Histologic Grade, MRI Non-mass Enhancement, and Clinical T Stage. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5689-5701.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: A three-factor scoring model identified a HER2-low subgroup (score ≥2, n=22) in whom no patient achieved pCR (PPV=100%, 95%CI=84.6-100%). If validated externally, this score may inform preoperative decisions regarding upfront surgery or early-line trastuzumab deruxtecan. These findings are hypothesis-generating and require prospective multicenter validation.

- Predictive Value of G8 Screening for Early Discontinuation of Gastric Cancer Adjuvant Chemotherapy. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5703-5714.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: A low preoperative G8 score was associated with early discontinuation of adjuvant chemotherapy in elderly patients with gastric cancer. Preoperative G8 screening may help identify vulnerable patients who may require careful perioperative management and individualized treatment strategies.

- Conventional One-surgeon Team (COST) Versus Two-attending Surgeons Approach (TASA) in Lymph Node Harvest in Patients Undergoing Pancreaticoduodenectomy for Cancer. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5497-5504.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: The TASA approach is associated with improved LNY, reduced blood loss and reduced number of postoperative complications in comparison to COST approach. The TASA approach appears to be a safe and potentially advantageous strategy for pancreaticoduodenectomy.

- Genetic Association of MMP-13 rs2252070 and rs478927 Polymorphisms With Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Taiwan. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5421-5431.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to evaluate MMP-13 polymorphisms in childhood ALL. Our findings indicate that no statistically significant association between MMP-13 rs2252070 or rs478927 polymorphisms and childhood ALL susceptibility was detected in this Taiwanese cohort. Larger multi-center and functional studies are warranted to validate these observations and further clarify the role of MMP-13 in leukemogenesis.

- Triptolide as a Chemosensitizer in Human Papillomavirus Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Through TP53. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5359-5373.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Triptolide acts as an in vitro chemosensitizer in HPV-positive HNSCC, likely through reactivation of wild-type TP53 and restoration of apoptotic control. Inflammatory cytokine signaling blockade may provide an additional mechanism contributing to this chemosensitizing effect.

- CONCLUSIONS: PFD mitigated radiation-induced intestinal injury, and post-IR administration was associated with potentially greater efficacy.

- Acacetin Promotes Cell Death and Inhibits Migration in Follicular Thyroid Cells. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5453-5465.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Acacetin promoted cell death through apoptosis. As no autophagic-flux assay was performed, our findings should be limited to increased acidic vesicular staining and accumulation of LC3-II, p62, and phosphorylated p62. Moreover, acacetin significantly repressed migration in FTC cells by reversing epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. Collectively, our findings suggested that acacetin could be a potential anti-FTC agent.

- Alpha-catenin Mutation-associated Synchronous Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma and Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma With Numerous Adenomatoid Nodules. [Case Reports]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5775-5779.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: This case expands the spectrum of germline CTNNA1-associated disease and raises the possibility that diffuse multifocal thyroid proliferative lesions with thyroid carcinomas may represent an underrecognized manifestation of CTNNA1-related hereditary cancer predisposition.

- CONCLUSIONS: Surgical treatment of metachronous liver metastases from non-colorectal non-neuroendocrine gastrointestinal cancers was associated with longer median overall survival and significantly higher overall survival at 1 year compared with non-surgical management, with a favorable but not statistically significant trend at 3 and 5 years.

- Real-world Outcomes of First-line Enfortumab Vedotin Plus Pembrolizumab in Elderly Patients With Advanced Urothelial Carcinoma. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5715-5727.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: In this small, selected real-world cohort, first-line EVP showed preliminary antitumor activity and feasible treatment delivery in elderly patients with advanced UC, including very elderly patients. These findings should be considered hypothesis-generating and require validation in larger studies with longer follow-up and standardized geriatric assessment.
