- Real-world use of abbreviated dual antiplatelet therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention among patients with high bleeding risk: Are guidelines followed? Insights from the FRANCE-PCI registry. [Journal Article]Arch Cardiovasc Dis. 2026 Jun 26. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: In real-word practice, less than one third of patients with a high bleeding risk received abbreviated dual antiplatelet therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention. The use of prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy remained driven by ischaemic risk markers, highlighting persistent uncertainty in bleeding risk/ischaemic risk trade-offs.

- Cardiac rhythm disorders in sickle cell disease: A literature review. [Review]Arch Cardiovasc Dis. 2026 May 28. [Online ahead of print]AC
- Sickle cell disease is a hereditary haemoglobinopathy characterized by chronic haemolysis, vaso-occlusive events and multisystem involvement. Whereas haematological and pulmonary complications are well recognized, cardiac involvement - particularly arrhythmias - has recently emerged as an important contributor to morbidity and mortality. This review examines the spectrum of rhythm disturbances in…

- Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has become widely used to treat symptomatic patients with aortic stenosis (AS), but increasing demand has led to treatment delays, which are associated with increased morbi-mortality.

- Feasibility and safety of "fast-track" protocol after TAVI. [Journal Article]Arch Cardiovasc Dis. 2026 May 15. [Online ahead of print]AC
- CONCLUSIONS: Next-day discharge after transcatheter aortic valve implantation was feasible and safe for 69.9% of eligible patients (representing 56.5% of the overall cohort). Eligibility for the fast track protocol was achieved in 80.8% of patients. Conduction disturbances and vascular complications remain key obstacles leading to prolonged hospital stays and requiring optimization.

- Symptoms in hypertension: Diagnostic challenges, clinical implications and management strategies for headache, dizziness and vertigo. [Review]Arch Cardiovasc Dis. 2026 May 15. [Online ahead of print]AC
- Headache, dizziness and vertigo are non-specific but frequently reported symptoms in patients with hypertension. When evaluating headache, clinicians must systematically exclude primary headache disorders - such as migraine, tension-type headache and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias - before attributing symptoms to hypertension. If a primary headache is suspected, referral to a neurologist is es…

- CONCLUSIONS: The MonCœur randomized trial suggests that a mobile app dedicated to HF management may contribute to behavioural changes, particularly in physical activity, although patient engagement with the app was moderate.

- Thrombophilia testing in venous thromboembolism: When, who and why it matters. A practical review. [Review]Arch Cardiovasc Dis. 2026 May 15. [Online ahead of print]AC
- Thrombophilia encompasses inherited and acquired biological abnormalities that predispose to venous thromboembolism (VTE). Although thrombophilia testing has been available for decades, routine screening of all patients presenting with deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism is neither recommended nor cost-effective. Current international guidelines support testing for clinical scenarios where…

- CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate the widespread adoption of the TRI-SCORE through free, user-friendly digital platforms and suggest its potential utility as a tool to monitor disease stage when considering interventions in patients with TR.
