- Agonism of GPR84 Attenuates Free Fatty Acid-Induced Endothelial Inflammation and Monocyte Adhesion via Gfi1/NF-κB Pathway. [Journal Article]Arq Bras Cardiol. 2026; 123(8):e20260231.AB
- CONCLUSIONS: GPR84 agonism mitigates FFA-induced endothelial inflammation by restoring Gfi1 expression and suppressing NF-κB signaling, highlighting a potential therapeutic strategy for early atherosclerosis that warrants further in vivo validation.

- CONCLUSIONS: In Brazil, despite advances in the prevention and treatment of CVD, improvements have not been equitable: strong regional and socioeconomic inequalities persist, with higher mortality rates among vulnerable populations.

- Estimated Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Diameter: Proposal of an Equation for Clinical Use in Adults from The ELSA Brasil Study data. [Journal Article]Arq Bras Cardiol. 2026; 123(8):e20260036.AB
- Left ventricular outflow tract diameter (LVOTd) is essential for estimating stroke volume and aortic stenosis severity, but technical limitations may affect its accuracy. A predicted LVOTd may overcome these issues, though it has not been validated in large populations. We studied the participants of the representative random sample and with ≥ 60 y-o from the Elsa-Brasil study with echocardiogram…

- Systematic Review on the Safety of Physical Exercise in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Recommendations from the Brazilian Society of Cardiology. [Practice Guideline]Arq Bras Cardiol. 2026; 123(8):e20260423.AB
- CONCLUSIONS: PE in HCM should be encouraged based on individualized assessment. In patients without high-risk criteria for SCD, benefits appear to outweigh risks. For higher-risk subgroups, recommendations are more cautious and based on expert consensus.

- CONCLUSIONS: Reassessment of established risk markers during hospitalization may improve identification of patients who remain at high risk despite initial risk classification and treatment. Persistent RV dysfunction and lower follow-up SBP were independently associated with adverse in-hospital outcomes, which supports the use of dynamic risk stratification in acute PE.

- Effects of Pacemakers on Ventricular Functions and Early Variables Associated with Induced Cardiomyopathy. [Journal Article]Arq Bras Cardiol. 2026; 123(7):e20250566.AB
- CONCLUSIONS: RV pacing resulted in a substantial decline in LV systolic function in the short and long term. Concurrently, RV functions declined over the long term (six months). Diminished GLS at seven days, a broader pre-implantation QRS complex, and an elevation in VP% are early indicators of PIVD and PICM. Routine patient monitoring for these indicators can be beneficial for timely intervention on a case-by-case basis.
