  • Comparative effectiveness of dietary supplements in dilated cardiomyopathy: a systematic review and network meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
    BMC Cardiovasc Disord. 2026 Aug 27; 26(1).Liu Y, Liu R, … Yuan YBC
  • CONCLUSIONS: In this network, higher-dose CoQ10 (150 mg/d) showed the most favourable overall profile for systolic function and ventricular dimensions, while n-3 PUFAs offered the most reliable benefit for heart rate. Given small samples, predominantly Chinese open-label trials, a heterogeneous and time-varying CT comparator, local inconsistency, and poor safety reporting, these findings should be regarded as hypothesis-generating and require confirmation in larger, well-designed international RCTs with longer follow-up.
  • Association between triglyceride-glucose-related indices and cardiovascular disease risk in population with cardio-kidney-metabolic syndrome stages 0-3: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
    BMC Cardiovasc Disord. 2026 Aug 26; 26(1).Chen Y, Dai B, … Sun JBC
  • CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis suggests that elevated TyG-derived indices are significantly associated with increased incident CVD risk among individuals with stage 0-3 CKM syndrome. Composite TyG-derived indices showed numerically higher pooled effect estimates than the TyG index; however, overlapping confidence intervals and the absence of direct statistical comparisons prevent conclusions regarding the superiority of any specific index. Given the observational nature of the included studies, limited population diversity, and substantial residual heterogeneity, these findings should be interpreted cautiously. TyG-derived indices may represent potential auxiliary markers for CVD risk stratification, and further large-scale multi-ethnic prospective studies are warranted to evaluate their clinical utility.
  • Assessment of Cardiovascular Disease-Related Distress and Psychosocial Determinants: A Prospective Observational Study. [Journal Article]
BMC Cardiovasc Disord. 2026 Jul 30; 26(1).Desai HP, Kapadia ST, … Shah ABC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Cardiovascular disease-related distress among ACS patients varied across specific psychosocial domains rather than uniformly affecting all aspects of patient well-being. Distinct patterns of distress were observed across socioeconomic groups, highlighting the influence of psychosocial and socioeconomic determinants on cardiovascular distress. These findings emphasize the importance of identifying domain-specific distress to facilitate targeted and individualized patient care.
