  • The Effect of Clinicopathological Features and Postoperative Management on Prognosis in Male Breast Cancer. [Journal Article]
    Breast J. 2026; 2026(1):e2806453.Liu S, Song QBJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: The median age at diagnosis for MBC patients in China was significantly younger compared to other populations. Postoperative chemotherapy significantly improved OS in patients with positive axillary lymph nodes and primary lesions exceeding 2 cm. Postoperative radiotherapy demonstrated survival benefits in partial early-stage and locally advanced patients. Additionally, surgery at the primary site represented a viable therapeutic option for selected Stage IV patients.
  • Lower-Cost Nonsurgical Primary Prevention Strategies for Women at High Risk of Breast Cancer: A Scoping Review. [Journal Article]
    Breast J. 2026; 2026(1):e1523594.Wen M, Zhao Y, He CBJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: This scoping review systematically maps lower-cost, nonsurgical primary prevention strategies for women at high risk of breast cancer, identifying six categories of promotable interventions. Comprehensive lifestyle intervention represents the most evidence-supported and economically manageable core strategy. For the first time from the dual perspectives of "nonsurgical" and "lower cost," this review provides practical references for primary healthcare systems, clinical education, and public health policy, with particular relevance for resource-limited settings.
  • Is Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Necessary for Male Breast Cancer? A SEER-Based Population Study. [Journal Article]
    Breast J. 2026; 2026(1):e3718304.Pang L, Li Y, Wang ZBJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: This population-based study demonstrates that MBC patients receiving NAC achieved significantly lower pCR rates compared to female patients. The HR+/HER2- and HR+/HER2+ subtypes exhibited greater resistance to NAC. Furthermore, achieving pCR was not prognostic for improved survival in MBC. These findings suggest that NAC may not be necessary for all MBC cases. Future research should explore alternative treatment strategies tailored to the unique biological characteristics of MBC.
  • Assessing the Effect of Breast Density on Screening Performance in a Population-Based Program. [Journal Article]
    Breast J. 2026; 2026(1):e9750357.Mistry C, Walton R, … O'Brien TBJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: The effectiveness of conventional two-dimensional mammography is strongly dependent on breast density, with reduced sensitivity and increased interval cancer rates for clients with extremely dense breasts. By utilising a more granular measure of breast density in a large population screening cohort, this study identified nonlinear relationships between breast density and screening performance metrics, providing evidence to support future evaluation of more individualised screening approaches.
  • Serum IL2Rα as a Diagnostic Biomarker and Its Functional Interplay With IL-2 in Breast Cancer. [Journal Article]
    Breast J. 2026; 2026(1):e5295439.Wang W, Liu J, … Zhu LBJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Serum IL2Rɑ could serve as a complementary auxiliary diagnostic biomarker for breast cancer, with associations with systemic inflammation, immune cell infiltration, and aggressive disease. The functional antagonism between IL2RA and IL-2 highlights the IL-2/IL2RA axis as a critical regulator of breast cancer pathophysiology, supporting its potential as a therapeutic target for improving breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
