Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Oct 29; :8465371261499993. [Online ahead of print]Wilkinson AN, Ellison LF, … Seely JMCA
  • CONCLUSIONS: Highlighted by increasing rates among younger women, especially those 45-49, recent trends in age-specific breast cancer incidence rates are diverging with important implications for screening and clinical care. Over several decades, the shape of the age-specific breast cancer incidence rate curve has changed with peak incidence occurring at a younger age.
  • Demystifying Imaging Patterns of Substance Abuse-Related Lung Injury (SARLI). [Review]
    Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Oct 29; :8465371261491714. [Online ahead of print]Sharma S, Davoudi D, … McInnis MCA
  • Recreational substance abuse causes a broad spectrum of acute and chronic pulmonary injuries through inhalation and intravenous injection. Imaging findings often overlap with infection, pulmonary edema, and other inflammatory lung diseases, particularly when an exposure history is unavailable. This review discusses the mechanisms and characteristic CT imaging patterns of substance abuse-related l…
  • Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Diseases: CAR/CSTR Practice Guidelines for HRCT Diagnosis. [Review]
Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Oct 28; :8465371261486850. [Online ahead of print]Souza CA, Hague CJ, … Müller NLCA
  • Fibrotic interstitial lung diseases (fILD) are a heterogeneous group of chronic diseases that require clinical, radiological and pathological correlation for diagnosis and management. In this setting, the role of radiologists is to define the ILD pattern using high-resolution CT (HRCT). These practice guidelines, developed by the Canadian Society of Thoracic Radiology (CSTR) and the Canadian Asso…
  • Portable MRI and Equitable Access to Imaging: A Framework for Implementation and Sustainable Deployment. [Review]
    Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Oct 23; :8465371261493828. [Online ahead of print]Kamran R, Setia P, … Patlas MNCA
  • MRI is a reference-standard modality for an expanding range of clinical questions, yet it remains among the most unevenly distributed technologies in medicine. Portable low- and ultra-low-field MRI, compact permanent-magnet systems that operate without cryogens or need for in-room radiofrequency shielding, have been proposed as a means of extending imaging to settings where fixed scanners are una…
  • CAR/CSAR Practice Guideline on Retroperitoneal Sarcomas (RPS). [Review]
    Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Oct 15; :8465371261488845. [Online ahead of print]Yuen J, Gamble J, … Chang SDCA
  • Retroperitoneal sarcomas (RPS) are a heterogenous family of neoplasms. The Canadian Association of Radiologists Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group was established to provide recommendations for the imaging evaluation and initial workup of suspected RPS in the context of the Canadian healthcare system. The recommendations, which are based on available literature and expert consensus, provide gu…
  • Intracranial Arteriopathy and Ischemic Brain Injury in Adults With Sickle Cell Disease. [Journal Article]
Can Assoc Radiol J. 2026 Sep 24; :8465371261488326. [Online ahead of print]Milikovsky DZ, Anthes V, … Hendriks EJCA
  • CONCLUSIONS: In a consecutive adult SCD cohort undergoing routine MRI/MRA, ischemic and atrophy-related abnormalities were frequent and heterogeneous overall. SOA, but not DIA, was associated with several parenchymal injury patterns, supporting the potential role of intracranial vascular imaging in refining cerebrovascular phenotyping in adults with SCD.
