- Serum Glycoprotein VI in Acute Pulmonary Embolism: Association With Radiological Thrombus Burden and Clinical Risk Indicators. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Serum GPVI was associated with radiological thrombus burden and severity-related clinical indicators in acute PE. These exploratory findings support further evaluation of GPVI as a potential risk-stratification biomarker but do not establish diagnostic utility. Confirmation in larger, clinically representative prospective cohorts with hard clinical outcomes is required.

- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Effects on Pulmonary Hemodynamics and Left Ventricular Function in Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: In adults with OSA or OHS, CPAP reduces pulmonary arterial pressure and improves LV diastolic function, but it does not significantly alter LVMi or ejection fraction. These findings support CPAP as a key intervention to mitigate pulmonary hemodynamic burden and diastolic dysfunction in this high-risk population, while its potential to reverse structural cardiac remodeling requires further study.

- Silicosis Among Engineered Stone Workers in Ontario, Canada: A Case Series of 20 Patients. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Engineered stone-associated silicosis in Ontario is characterized by prolonged silica exposure, inadequate workplace protections, delayed diagnosis, and severe disease at presentation. These findings underscore the urgent need for strengthened regulatory measures to protect engineered stone workers: more effective occupational silica exposure controls, systematic respiratory health surveillance of workers at risk, and earlier recognition and diagnosis of silicosis.

- Multiple Pulmonary Papillary Adenoma With Malignant Potential Accompanied by ERBIN-BRAF Gene Fusion and APC Mutation: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Currently, there is no established standard treatment for such tumors, and the tumor in this case underwent pulmonary lobectomy. Future studies should accumulate more cases to clarify the prognosis and treatment guidelines for this type of tumor.

- Frequency of Radiologic Bronchiolocentric Interstitial Pneumonia Patterns and Associated Factors in Welders. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The BIP pattern is observed at a notable frequency on HRCT in welders. The findings suggest that BIP is not specific to hypersensitivity pneumonitis and may represent a morphological pattern associated with various inhalational etiologies. Occupational history should be carefully assessed in cases exhibiting the BIP pattern.

- High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation Combined With Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn: A Single-Center Randomized Clinical Trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: In the observed per-protocol population, HFOV + iNO was associated with fewer deaths or ECMO events and faster improvement in oxygenation and right-ventricular echocardiographic measures than either comparator. Because 12 randomized infants were excluded and the overall comparison was not robust to the differential worst-case missing-outcome assumption, confidence in the apparent treatment effect is limited. These findings are exploratory and hypothesis-generating, do not establish efficacy, and require confirmation in a prospectively registered multicenter trial with complete outcome ascertainment.

- Critical Errors in Inhaler Technique Among Patients With Asthma and COPD: A Cross-Sectional Study in a Real-World Setting. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Inadequate inhalation technique, particularly the occurrence of critical errors, was highly prevalent, especially among older patients and those using multiple devices. Inhalers dependent on inspiratory effort demonstrated greater vulnerability to incorrect use.

- The Role of Melatonin in Smoking Cessation and COPD Management: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: While melatonin did not significantly affect smoking cessation or psychological outcomes, the observed reduction in hospitalization rates should be interpreted cautiously as an exploratory finding. Larger, long-term, and adequately powered studies are needed to confirm these results and further investigate the potential role of melatonin as an adjunct therapy in COPD management.

- Adjunctive Short-Wave Diathermy to High-Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation for Acute Exacerbation of COPD: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: The combined intervention significantly improves respiratory symptoms, arterial oxygenation, and sputum clearance in patients with AECOPD compared with HFCWO alone or routine treatment. The addition of thermal therapy enhances the clinical efficacy of mechanical airway clearance, offering a feasible adjunctive strategy for acute-phase management of AECOPD.

- Clinical Characteristics of Mycoplasma pneumoniae Pneumonia in Children and Risk Factors for Progression to Severe Disease. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Children with SMPP have prolonged fever and cough, more severe clinical symptoms, and significantly elevated inflammation-related laboratory indicators. Prematurity, pulmonary consolidation, high fever, wheezing, and difficulty breathing are easily accessible baseline warning indicators for early identification of children at high risk of progression to SMPP. Strengthening early recognition and timely intervention in patients presenting with these factors may help optimize clinical management and improve outcomes.

- Clinical Impact of HRCT UIP Pattern Among Patients With Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Undergoing Antifibrotic Treatment: A Multicenter Retrospective Observational Study. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with IPF treated with AFT, the radiological UIP pattern on HRCT was not independently associated with long-term prognosis. Multidimensional risk assessment incorporating physiological impairment and disease behavior may provide more accurate prognostic stratification in treated UIP populations.

- The Value of Lung Biopsy in Infants up to 3 Months With Diffuse Lung Disease in a Resource-Limited Setting. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: ChILD should be considered in neonates with severe respiratory distress and PHT not responding to surfactant replacement. Lung biopsy is safe and diagnostic and may prevent long and futile treatment. Histopathological diagnosis frequently assists treatment decisions. Future multicentre studies should include children from an RLS to collect information on diagnoses, genetics and treatment responses.

- Embosphere With or Without Coils in the Treatment of Hemoptysis: A Propensity-Matched Analysis of Recurrence and Safety. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing embosphere-based BAE for hemoptysis, adjunctive coils did not improve long-term recurrence-free survival or reduce complications. Coil use was associated with shorter procedure duration.
