- Nanoparticles for Targeted Drug Delivery in Heart Failure. [Review]Circ Heart Fail. 2026 Aug 14; :e014109. [Online ahead of print]CH
- Heart failure remains a major cause of global morbidity and mortality despite advances in guideline-directed medical therapy. Nanoparticle-based approaches have gained attention as strategies to enhance therapeutic delivery; however, their clinical relevance depends on addressing true pharmacological barriers rather than repackaging existing agents. In this review, we present a conceptual framewo…

- Pulmonary Atresia With Intact Septum Survival, Reintervention, and Days in Hospital Through Childhood: Contemporary Outcomes From a National Registry. [Journal Article]Circ Cardiovasc Interv. 2026 Aug 14; :e016435. [Online ahead of print]CC
- CONCLUSIONS: In a contemporary pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum cohort, transcatheter right ventricular decompression was the predominant initial intervention. This approach had lower in-hospital mortality compared with older multicenter series, with BiV repair achieved in more than half of the patients. Early mortality after nonantegrade flow augmentation remains high, likely due to nonmodifiable risk factors in severe cases. Long-term survival and hospital stay remain better for those amenable to BiV circulation, reflecting more favorable anatomy compared with those on the single-ventricle pathway, although reintervention is lower in the latter.

- Mechanosensitive Endothelial METTL7A Regulates Internal m[7]G mRNA Methylation and Protects Against Atherosclerosis. [Journal Article]Circulation. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]Circ
- CONCLUSIONS: METTL7A is a mechanosensitive internal m[7]G methyltransferase that maintains endothelial homeostasis by stabilizing the anti-inflammatory transcripts KLF4 (Krüppel-like factor 4) and NFKBIA. Loss of METTL7A disrupts endothelial function and accelerates atherogenesis. Endothelial restoration of METTL7A through complementary targeted nanoparticle platforms significantly reduces atherosclerotic burden. These findings uncover a novel epitranscriptomic mechanism governing vascular health and position METTL7A as a promising therapeutic target for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

- ABHD11-Mediated mtDNA Transcription Restored Mitochondrial Function to Attenuate Cardiomyocyte Ferroptosis After Myocardial Infarction. [Journal Article]Circulation. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]Circ
- CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed that ABHD11-mediated mitochondrial DNA transcription attenuated cardiomyocyte ferroptosis after MI by orchestrating a mitochondrial-nuclear crosstalk, offering a novel therapeutic strategy for ischemic myocardial injury.

- Opportunistic Screening for Chagas Disease Using an Artificial Intelligence-Enabled ECG: Prospective Evaluation of Feasibility and Diagnostic Accuracy. [Journal Article]Circulation. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]Circ
- CONCLUSIONS: In this community-based study, an AI-ECG-EPI model integrated into a public telecardiology network enabled feasible opportunistic screening for ChD in primary care. It showed acceptable diagnostic accuracy, with higher discrimination than epidemiological questions and AI ECG-only models, and identified many previously undiagnosed patients in endemic regions, supporting its potential role in scalable screening strategies.

- Postcardiac arrest syndrome is a complex multisystem disorder that evolves after return of spontaneous circulation and remains a major determinant of morbidity and mortality following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Beyond anoxic brain injury and transient myocardial dysfunction, many patients develop a systemic ischemia/reperfusion response with endothelial and microvascular dysfunction, vasople…
