- Calprotectin Accelerates Pathogenic Calciprotein Particle Maturation to Promote Vascular Calcification in Chronic Kidney Disease. [Journal Article]Circ Res. 2026 Oct 12. [Online ahead of print]CircR
- CONCLUSIONS: CPT is a previously unrecognized regulator of pathogenic CPP maturation and composition, thereby promoting vascular calcification in CKD-mineral and bone disorder. Targeting CPT may represent a novel therapeutic strategy to attenuate vascular calcification in CKD.

- Cell Village Captures Populational Heterogeneity of Sunitinib Cardiotoxicity. [Journal Article]Circ Res. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]CircR
- CONCLUSIONS: This proof-of-concept study establishes a scalable, donor-resolved platform that links pooled transcriptomic profiling with functional toxicity and recovery phenotypes in human cardiomyocytes. By linking molecular perturbations to functional outcomes across genetically diverse backgrounds, this approach provides a framework for dissecting interindividual variability in TKI-associated cardiotoxicity. More broadly, it provides a foundation for extending population-scale cardiotoxicity assessment to additional drugs and protective interventions.

- Endothelial Piezo1 Hyperactivity Drives Neurovascular Dysfunction in Hypertension. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Hypertension increased the gain of Piezo1 function in brain endothelial cells, promoting dysfunctional neurovascular signaling and cognitive impairment. Targeting Piezo1 or PKC signaling selectively restored cerebrovascular regulation. This work identifies a mechanosensitive pathway that could be leveraged to protect the hypertensive brain.

- Multimodality Molecular Profiling Nominates Targetable Mechanisms in Progressive RV Dysfunction. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Our multiomic analysis defines the cellular and molecular landscape of progressive RVD and nominates druggable pathways that may promote progressive RVD. Future studies are needed to determine how engaging these pathways influences RV phenotypes.

- RUNX3-ERG Cooperation Orchestrates Endothelial Gene Regulation and Vascular Homeostasis. [Journal Article]Circ Res. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]CircR
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the first evidence that RUNX3 is a pivotal transcriptional coordinator in endothelial cells. By integrating ERG and chromatin regulators at ETS:RUNX motifs, RUNX3 safeguards the balance between angiogenic activation and vascular stability. These findings establish RUNX3 as a gatekeeper of endothelial transcriptional identity and highlight its potential as a therapeutic target in pathological angiogenesis.

- Arterial Resident But Not Monocyte-Derived Macrophages Require Endothelial CSF1. [Journal Article]Circ Res. 2026 Oct 01. [Online ahead of print]CircR
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study uncovers a unique role of local endothelial cell CSF1 in maintaining the intimal, but not adventitial, T-RMø niche during homeostasis and early stages of atherosclerosis and reveals that maintenance of monocyte-derived macrophages in lesions is distinct.

- Acetyltransferase MOF Regulates Macrophage Inflammation in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides important evidence that MOF regulates macrophage phenotypic function and inflammation during human and murine AAA development. Targeting the MOF pathway affords the opportunity to prevent pathological macrophage infiltration within the aortic wall and potentially limit AAA development.

- FGFR1/KLB-MFG-E8 Maintains Microvascular Integrity and Adaptive Cardiac Remodeling. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings demonstrate FGFR1/KLB-mediated cardioprotective mechanisms through cardiomyocyte-endothelial cell crosstalk and provide evidence that preserving adaptive remodeling represents a promising strategy to alleviate heart failure in both sexes.

- Oral KCl Supplementation Safely Reduces Body Na[+] Surplus and Blood Pressure. [Journal Article]Circ Res. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]CircR
- CONCLUSIONS: Oral KCl supplementation mobilizes intracellular Na[+] stores, corrects pathological Na[+]/K[+] distribution, and lowers BP across hypertension phenotypes. This safe, targeted approach warrants consideration as a scalable public health strategy for cardiovascular disease prevention.
