- Long-term LDL-C lowering and treatment persistence with inclisiran: 3-year follow-up from the German Inclisiran Network. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In a heterogeneous real-world population, inclisiran achieved significant LDL-C reductions but with marked inter- and intraindividual variability. A notable proportion of patients discontinued therapy, highlighting the importance of individualized treatment strategies.

- Effects of natriuresis-guided diuretic therapy in men and women with acute heart failure: insights from PUSH-AHF. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Natriuresis-guided therapy was associated with greater natriuresis and a lower risk of 180-day all-cause mortality or HF rehospitalization in men but not in women. These exploratory sex-specific patterns warrant further investigation and confirmation.

- Not all mental disorders matter equally in peripheral arterial disease: Dementia drives prognosis and care disparities. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Mental Disorders in PAD are not prognostically homogeneous. Dementia identifies a particularly vulnerable and undertreated PAD population characterized by substantial therapeutic disparities and markedly adverse clinical outcomes, highlighting an important and underrecognized gap in vascular care.

- Relationship between a small aortic annulus and clinical and quality-of-life outcomes in patients undergoing TAVR. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients with small aortic annuli experience comparable long-term survival and quality-of-life recovery after TAVR. Exploratory analyses suggest that valve type may influence patient-centered outcomes in this population.

- Effectiveness and clinical impact of functional post-PCI optimization-a systematic review and individual patient-data meta-analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Post-PCI optimization after angiographically successful PCI resulted in a significant increase in post-PCI FFR. The success of optimization of suboptimal FFR values was associated with target vessel location, initial post-PCI FFR value and optimization method.

- Memory of the renin-angiotensin system following heart transplantation or implantation of a left ventricular assist device. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Continuing AngII spill-over after HT and LVAD may affect patient outcomes, potentially contributing to complications. The findings support the rationale for cardioprotective treatment, particularly with RAS inhibitors, in most patients, while further studies should address the long-term effect of this strategy.

- Interleukin-8 and other neutrophil-related biomarkers are associated with 1-year mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: IL-8 and neutrophil-related biomarkers were associated with 1-year mortality in AMI patients, especially in the hyper-acute phase.

- Specific treatment of ATTR-CM in Germany-expert consensus of the German Society of Amyloid Diseases (DGAK) and German Cardiac Society (DGK). [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: This consensus provides a practical framework for the specific treatment of ATTR-CM in Germany, aiming for early treatment initiation. Local standards and shared decision-making remain essential for the establishment of ATTR-CM therapy in an individual patient.

- Associations of CMR-based pulse wave velocity and aortic distensibility with infrarenal ultrasound-based aortic parameters in the Hamburg City Health Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: CMR-based aortic stiffness parameters such as PWV and AD were associated with infrarenal aortic parameters. Their diagnostic, screening, and prognostic value remains to be investigated.

- The estimated plasma volume status is an independent predictor for mortality in patients undergoing transcatheter mitral valve repair. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Elevated preprocedural ePVS and NT-proBNP were independent predictors of mortality after M-TEER. Their combined assessment provided further risk stratification and may improve risk assessment in this heterogeneous population.

- Impact of vascular and cardiac parameters on quality of life in patients undergoing catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Reduced QoL correlates with vascular and myocardial functional impairment in patients with AF scheduled for catheter ablation. The potential incremental value of multimodal cardiovascular assessment warrants further evaluation.

- Prognostic implications of one-year left ventricular systolic function after heart transplantation. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Recipients with mild, moderate, and severe reductions in 1-year LVEF had higher rates of hospitalization, renal failure, and acute rejection, as well as a significant increase in mortality and CAV risk independent of other clinically relevant variables. The clinical implications of our findings suggest that LVEF 1-year after HTx is a powerful prognostic indicator that can allow clinicians to identify high-risk recipients, screen for comorbidities, and treat or manage subsequent pathologic processes timely.

- Obesity paradox in heart failure with and without diabetes mellitus: a retrospective cohort study : Obesity paradox and DM in HF. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Overweight status was associated with better prognosis in HF patients regardless of DM status, confirming the obesity paradox in both diabetic and non-diabetic HF populations. This obesity paradox was robust for one-year mortality but, after multivariable adjustment, was not independently associated with in-hospital mortality. Given the observational design, these findings should be interpreted as associations rather than evidence of a causal effect.

- Gaps in lipid management among high-risk patients without prior MI or stroke: the VESALIUS-REAL global study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Most patients at high CV risk were not optimally managed, with low rates of LLT initiation, treatment intensification, LDL-C monitoring, and LDL-C goal attainment across 11 databases. These findings highlight a substantial unmet clinical need for improved guideline-based lipid management to prevent first major CV events in high-risk populations.

- Routine versus selective use of a femoral protection wire in transfemoral TAVI: a single-centre analysis of vascular complications. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In contemporary transfemoral TAVI, routine protection wire use was not associated with reduced major vascular complications and was linked to a higher rate of minor access site injuries. These findings support a restrictive rather than routine use of protection wires in current practice.
