- Hit the Ground Running: Early Eyesi Performance Characterises Learning Trajectories in Cataract Surgical Simulation. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Ophthalmol. 2026 Oct 28. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: Eyesi-derived performance metrics captured early in cataract simulation training were associated with subsequent learning efficiency, proficiency and progression within a structured simulated curriculum. Future research may consider investigating the use of such data to inform individualised training strategies in early cataract simulation training. These findings should be considered exploratory and require validation in larger cohorts.

- Investigating Clinically Invisible Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia (OSSN) in Pterygium Excisions. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Ophthalmol. 2026 Oct 28. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: Histopathology identified dysplastic or in situ change in nearly one in five clinically benign pterygia from this high-UV population. These findings support submitting excised pterygium tissue for histopathological examination, particularly where UV exposure is intense.

- Early Visual Development in Albinism. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Ophthalmol. 2026 Oct 26. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: DVDev is a common early feature of albinism and should be considered part of its early developmental profile. Visual attentiveness was estimated to emerge within the first 6 months of life, with visual acuity showing a rapid improvement during this period, providing a framework for early clinical assessment and counselling.

- Evaluation of the Safety and Therapeutic Range of Nanosecond Laser Treatment in Rabbits. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Ophthalmol. 2026 Oct 15. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: Nanosecond laser treatment can be used at lower irradiances than previously employed without causing disruption to photoreceptor segments. The use of this lower energy setting in clinical trials is worthy of consideration.

- Five-Year Treatment Outcomes of Macular Oedema Secondary to Central Retinal Vein Occlusion in Routine Clinical Practice: The Fight Retinal Blindness! Registry. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Ophthalmol. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients with macular oedema secondary to CRVO who continue treatment can achieve meaningful improvements in vision over an extended period. Patients with initially poor vision tend to have large improvements but the worst outcomes. In contrast, eyes with very good initial VA can achieve excellent functional results and may even stop treatment at some point with adequate therapy.
