  • Baseline Predictors of Incomplete Biochemical and Radiological Outcomes During Cabergoline Treatment of Prolactinomas: A Retrospective Cohort From a Tertiary Referral Center. [Journal Article]
Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Oct 26. [Online ahead of print]García-Sáenz MR, Rodríguez-Landeros DI, … Espinosa-Cárdenas ECE
  • CONCLUSIONS: Using a composite operational definition of incomplete response to cabergoline, no routinely available baseline clinical, biochemical, or gross tumor burden variable was independently associated with the composite endpoint or with incomplete radiological response. Baseline prolactin was associated only with incomplete biochemical response, and discrimination remained limited. Conventional baseline variables appear insufficient for clinically useful prediction, highlighting the need for more comprehensive models incorporating dynamic treatment-related, imaging features of tumor invasiveness, and molecular markers.
  • Survival in Patients With Pituitary Carcinoma. [Journal Article]
Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Oct 13. [Online ahead of print]Hamidi O, Erickson D, … Donegan DCE
  • CONCLUSIONS: PC carries a poor prognosis, with a median survival of only 3 years. Improved survival was associated with temozolomide exposure, female sex, and nonfunctional tumour subtype and underscores the prognostic relevance of tumour biology and treatment approach.
  • Cortisol Cutoffs for Adrenal Insufficiency Using Elecsys II: A Systematic Review. [Review]
Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]Haunton S, Leppinen N, … Dang UJCE
  • CONCLUSIONS: We affirm recommendations to lower the cortisol threshold for AI when using monoclonal assays. A peak threshold of 405 nmol/L (14.7 µg/dL) is suggested for a standard-dose ACTH test on the Elecsys II assay for diagnosis of AI, acknowledging limitations related to the small number and GRADE quality of included studies.
  • Adrenal Infections: An Underrecognized Cause of Primary Adrenal Insufficiency. [Review]
Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Wannachalee T, Charoensri S, … Parksook WWCE
  • CONCLUSIONS: Early recognition is essential, as management requires two complementary approaches: 1. antimicrobial therapy directed at the causative pathogen, and 2. hormonal replacement in patients with established adrenal insufficiency and longitudinal hormonal surveillance in those with preserved adrenal reserve at initial presentation.
  • Insulinoma With Secondary Adrenal Dysfunction: Clinical Characteristics and High-Risk Factors. [Journal Article]
Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]Li M, Luo Y, … Xie JCE
  • CONCLUSIONS: Insulinoma patients with secondary adrenal dysfunction have a higher risk of severe hypoglycemia. Our study suggest a potential correlation between tumour size and secondary adrenal dysfunction in insulinoma patients which may increase perioperative risks. Routine screening for adrenal cortical function is recommended to prevent the occurrence of more serious complications.
