  • Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for Central and Ultracentral Lung Tumors: A Multicenter Real-world Outcomes Analysis. [Journal Article]
    Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol). 2026 Sep 15; 60:104341. [Online ahead of print]Akgün Z, Ahmadova A, … Abacioğlu MUCO
  • CONCLUSIONS: In this multicenter real-world cohort, SBRT for C and UC lung tumors was associated with acceptable toxicity and clinically meaningful outcomes when delivered using contemporary techniques and cautious fractionation. Observations in selected subgroups, including patients with EGFR-mutant disease and smaller PTVs, should be interpreted as hypothesis-generating and support individualized clinical decision-making in anatomically high-risk settings.
  • Opioid Prescribing Changes in Advanced Cancer Before and After Withdrawal of Hydromorphone Slow-Release Tablets. [Journal Article]
Asia Pac J Clin Oncol. 2026 Oct 24. [Online ahead of print]Wong AK, McManus H, … Philip JAP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Following hydromorphone SR withdrawal, the frequency of methadone use increased and median doses doubled. Research incorporating national datasets is needed to clarify the broader impact of opioid supply interruptions. These findings indicate a potential need to reframe the place of methadone in practice, and potentially upscale the focus of clinician training on its safe and effective use.
  • Drivers of Change in Radiotherapy Practice: Lessons From a UK Tertiary Cancer Centre (2013-2023). [Journal Article]
    Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol). 2026 Sep 17; 60:104342. [Online ahead of print]Kapadi A, Price G, … French DPCO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Changes in radiotherapy are underpinned by diverse sources of evidence, yet evaluation of impact remains crucial for delivering high quality, evidence-based care. Developing quick, accessible and novel ways to monitor and evaluate modifications in radiotherapy planning or delivery is crucial for fostering more evidence-based and efficient practice, especially with the rapidly developing use of artificial intelligence.
  • Emerging Roles of Gold Nanoparticles in Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Imaging: A Promising yet Underexplored Frontier. [Review]
Asia Pac J Clin Oncol. 2026 Oct 22. [Online ahead of print]Sharma S, Chadha VDAP
  • Cancer is known to be a major cause of death worldwide, with lung cancer responsible for the maximum number of deaths. There is an urgent need for early and effective diagnosis of lung cancer to improve the overall survival rate, which is extremely low to date. Studies have shown that 57% of lung cancers are detected only after metastasis of the tumor. Economic restraints in hospitals are resulti…
  • Global Oncology Index: Mapping Disparities in Cancer Care Across Globe. [Journal Article]
Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol). 2026 Oct 01; 60:104355. [Online ahead of print]Ranjan NCO
  • CONCLUSIONS: The GOI underscores global oncology disparities, emphasizing the need for enhanced RT infrastructure and early detection in LMICs. While RT-focused, the index may overlook other treatment modalities, suggesting future refinements to improve comprehensiveness.
