  • Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of the IL-1 Receptor Antagonist Anakinra: A Systematic Review. [Systematic Review]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jul 07. [Online ahead of print]Li J, Clark M, … Kirkpatrick CMJCP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Overall, this review highlights substantial gaps in the clinical PK/PD knowledge on anakinra, and model robustness. Future studies, integrating physiologically informed covariates, improved biomarker strategies, and comprehensive ER data, are essential to support model-informed dosing for anakinra repurposing across populations and administration routes. These would facilitate the safety and efficacy of anakinra therapy across diverse populations.
  • Population Pharmacokinetic Modelling of Dolutegravir: A Narrative Review. [Review]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jul; 65(7):953-993.Pilote É, Sheehan NL, Marsot ACP
  • Dolutegravir-based regimens are part of the preferred regimens in all populations living with HIV, but dolutegravir's pharmacokinetics can vary greatly with factors such as drug-drug interactions (DDIs) and age. For example, DDIs between dolutegravir and rifamycins in countries with a high burden of HIV/tuberculosis co-infection present a major challenge. Attaining therapeutic concentrations is c…
  • Partial Area Under the Curve: A Revelatory Story in Pharmacokinetics. [Review]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jul; 65(7):943-951.Periyasamy M, Ravichandran MCP
  • Bioequivalence studies are important for a generic drug to enter the market. These studies mainly examine various pharmacokinetic parameters like Cmax, AUC0-T and AUC0-∞. But at times, these parameters might not be sufficient to pick up essential kinetics. It is even possible to undertake the additional parameter along with the traditional pharmacometrics. This article gives an overview of one su…
  • Informing Sampling Design for Lung Distribution Studies Using a Pulmonary Population Minimal PBPK Model. [Journal Article]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jun 29. [Online ahead of print]Wen H, Sadiq MW, … Svensson EMCP
  • CONCLUSIONS: A pulmonary population PBPK model for inhaled salbutamol was developed by integrating detailed intrapulmonary data from bronchoalveolar lavage, biopsy, and bronchosorption. The study revealed that parameter estimates of K p , u , lung and P eff were sensitive to the sampling technique. Staggered sampling strategies mitigated the risk of biased estimates, though the ideal sampling windows varied by drug's permeability. These findings support model-informed, permeability-driven study design in inhaled drug development.
  • Quantitative Pharmacology Justifying Ribociclib Dose in Early Breast Cancer. [Journal Article]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jun 23. [Online ahead of print]Ji Y, Wang C, … Crown JCP
  • CONCLUSIONS: This integrative analysis characterized the ribociclib pharmacokinetic and exposure-QTcF relationship, revealed the population effect on both pharmacokinetic and QTcF response, and justified the 400-mg dose in EBC. This work illustrates the utility and impact of quantitative pharmacology in justifying different doses across different patient populations for oncology therapies.
  • Blood Never Lies: The PopPK-Based Lie Detector. [Journal Article]
Clin Pharmacokinet. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]Chaiben S, Gandia P, … Concordet DCP
  • CONCLUSIONS: This probabilistic bi-analyte approach enhances non-adherence detection and is adaptable to other pharmacokinetic settings where distinct profiles and low model variability are present.
