- Did Dobbs impact access to and use of preferred contraception and related outcomes?: Quasi-experimental evidence from three states in the US. [Journal Article]Contraception. 2026 Oct 01; :111743. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: Immediately post Dobbs, people in more restrictive policy settings may have changed contraceptive care and method seeking differentially compared to those in the less restrictive setting; we observed no change in contraceptive preference fulfillment among users of methods other than female permanent contraception.

- Reasons for using telehealth medication abortion: adolescents and young adults compared with adults. [Journal Article]Contraception. 2026 Sep 30; :111741. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: Telehealth abortion successfully served AYAs who reported compounded financial, logistical, and privacy-related barriers to in-person care. Expanding access to telehealth abortion may help AYAs continue to overcome these barriers.

- Inclusion of minor adolescents in abortion research, 2019-2023: A systematic scoping review. [Review]Contraception. 2026 Sep 15; 164:111726. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: There is a considerable body of research on abortion access and experiences among minors in the U.S. However, minors' inclusion remains underreported in this literature. Based on our results, we provide recommendations to support transparent and standardized reporting of minors in abortion research. Such standardization will help to grow the evidence base on minors and abortion and subsequently support the development of evidence-based policies and clinical guidance for minors. The recommendations provided herein can also form the basis for future development of consensus guidelines on reporting minors' inclusion in studies.

- Covert contraceptive use and one-year trajectories of reproductive coercion and intimate partner violence in Kenya: A nationally representative cohort study. [Journal Article]Contraception. 2026 Sep 10; 164:111728. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: Current covert contraceptive use did not increase risk of abuse over one year among Kenyan women. Further research should examine nuanced covert-use and violence dynamics. Family planning services should support safe covert use and integrate survivor-centered care.

- This Committee Statement provides evidence-informed, person-centered guidance to optimize the identification, evaluation, management, and removal of deep and nonpalpable contraceptive implants. This guidance applies to clinicians removing the implants themselves or facilitating timely referral for removal. Appropriate referral includes a Center of Experience in the U.S. or similar tertiary expert…

- How Do Fertility-Tracking Technologies Define Ovulation and Anovulation? A Structured Landscape Analysis. [Review]Contraception. 2026 Aug 25; :111577. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: Fertility-tracking technologies demonstrate substantial heterogeneity in operational definitions, comparator evidence, and user burden. Greater transparency regarding ovulation and anovulation definitions, clearer reporting of comparator evidence, and more representative evaluation in irregular-cycle populations are needed to support accurate interpretation and integration into reproductive healthcare.

- CONCLUSIONS: Use of LARC methods in Mexico has shifted towards increased implant use and decreased IUD use, suggesting a shift between methods rather than expansion of overall LARC use.

- Digital platforms have become primary spaces where people encounter and engage with information about contraception, abortion and other reproductive health topics. Researchers have increasingly turned to these platforms to study health-related discourse, yet the methodological and interpretive challenges of this work are substantial. This commentary examines methodological, interpretive, and tran…

- Postpartum contraception plans among a cohort of pregnant incarcerated individuals. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Less than half of the patients in the study sample had documentation of their desired goal for postpartum contraception. Patterns of documentation and fulfillment were likely a byproduct of a combination of individual preferences, anticipated length of incarceration, clinician practice patterns, and facility policies.

- Risk of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke in users of progestogen-only contraceptives: A Danish registry study. [Journal Article]Contraception. 2026 Aug 20; :111595. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: POCs were not associated with increased stroke risk. Relative to CHCs with ethinylestradiol, POCs were linked to approximately half the risk of IS. However, the absolute number of strokes avoided by choosing POCs over CHCs with ethinylestradiol is small and, for most women-particularly those under 40 years-unlikely to be clinically detectable.
