- Factors Associated with HIV Infection in MSM Visiting Bathhouses: A Structural Equation Model Analysis of a Cross-Sectional Survey in Eastern China. [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: Bathhouse-active MSM engage in unsafe behaviors, such as group sex, anal sex with casual male partners, and inconsistent condom use during sexual encounters, all of which are risk factors for HIV infection. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen health promotion and education in this population, focusing on timely interventions for first-time bathhouse patrons to encourage safe sexual behaviors and reduce the risk of HIV transmission.

- Alterations in Th17/Treg Balance and IL-21 Signaling in Patients with HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis Coinfection. [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: HIV/Mtb coinfection is associated with a distinct immunoprofile featuring a partially restored but still imbalanced Th17/Treg ratio, compensatory upregulation of IL-21R on Th17 cells, and systemic IL-21 deficiency. This dysregulated Th17/Treg-IL-21 axis may underlie the unique immunopathology of coinfection and warrants further investigation as a source of biomarkers or therapeutic targets.

- Western Blot Band Profiles and Their Associations with Demographic Characteristics, Transmission Routes, and Immune Status among HIV-1 Infected Individuals in Quzhou, China (2016-2024). [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Sep 10. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: WB band profiles show a significant correlation with gender, transmission route, and baseline CD4+ T-cell counts. Restricted by the cross-sectional design, these band patterns cannot precisely determine delayed diagnosis, yet they may supply auxiliary reference about immune status for newly infected cases.

- Assessment of Depression and Associated Factors in People Living with HIV: A Cross-Sectional Study Using the Beck Depression Inventory. [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Sep 08. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: Depressive symptoms were independently associated with a lower CD4 cell count, a higher HIV RNA level, and a family history of depression. Therefore, assessing depressive symptoms during the routine follow-up of people living with HIV and integrating appropriate psychosocial support into HIV care are important.

- Foot Drop as the Initial Manifestation of HIV Infection with Focal Brain Lesions: A Case Report and Diagnostic Challenge. [Case Reports]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Sep 04. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights that foot drop may represent a rare initial manifestation of HIV infection and may reflect combined neuroaxis involvement affecting both central and peripheral nervous systems, rather than an isolated peripheral mononeuropathy. Early initiation of antiretroviral therapy can lead to both clinical and radiological improvement.

- Perceived Barriers to Physical Activity among People Living With HIV: A Cross-Sectional Study. [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Aug 07. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: PLWH are adversely affected by multiple factors associated with barriers to PA, including sociodemographic, clinical, and sedentary behavior characteristics. These findings highlight the need for an assessment of the patient's context in order to better propose ways to reduce barriers and promote PA in this population.

- Evaluation of Health-Related Quality of Life Over a Six-Month Period in Newly Diagnosed People Living with HIV. [Journal Article]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Jul 28. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: Beyond treatment access and virological suppression, improving HRQoL should be considered an important goal in HIV care. Strengthening social support systems, reducing stigma, and integrating multidisciplinary approaches may help support progress towards the Fourth 90 targets.

- Isolated Kaposi Sarcoma of the External Ear in an Immunocompromised Host: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Curr HIV Res. 2026 Jul 16. [Online ahead of print]CH
- CONCLUSIONS: Kaposi sarcoma of the ear is uncommon and often appears without systemic symptoms, which can delay diagnosis. Purulence and tenderness may be mistaken for a simple infection, and a keloid-like morphology can also mislead clinicians. This case highlights the similarity of these lesions, making biopsy essential to differentiate Kaposi sarcoma from more common benign or infectious ear conditions. Clinicians should consider Kaposi sarcoma of the external ear when evaluating persistent or unusual ear masses, especially in patients with weakened immune systems. Early tissue diagnosis and teamwork among specialists may lead to improved outcomes.
