- Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial of Psyllium Fiber in Functional Abdominal Pain Disorders in Children. [Journal Article]Dig Dis Sci. 2026 Aug 04. [Online ahead of print]DD
- CONCLUSIONS: A 12-week trial of psyllium fiber improves pain in most and gives sustained relief in three-fourths of children with FAP-NOS and IBS.

- Outcomes of ERCP for Post-operative Bile Leaks After Cholecystectomy, Hepatectomy, and Liver Transplantation: A High-Volume Tertiary Referral Center Experience. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: ERCP is effective and safe for PBL. However, initial clinical success varied by surgical etiology and leak severity. HG-BL and H-BL were associated with lower initial success and more frequently required repeated ERCP interventions for leak resolution. Further studies are needed to validate optimal treatment strategies for higher-risk bile leak subgroups.

- Absence of a Weekend Effect on In-Hospital Mortality in Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding: A Multisite Study from an Integrated Health System. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In a large multicenter cohort within an integrated health system, weekend admission was not associated with worse outcomes in UGIB, and this null association was robust across alternative off-hours and holiday exposure definitions, severity adjustment, and a prespecified clinically informed model. Disease severity, particularly shock and cirrhosis, was the dominant determinant of mortality. These findings are consistent with standardized, continuously available GI bleed care pathways mitigating temporal disparities in UGIB outcomes.

- Management of Gastric Leaks After Bariatric Surgery: Proposed Endoscopic Treatment Algorithm Based on 10-Year Experience. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Endoscopic management of post-bariatric surgery leaks using an institutional multimodal treatment algorithm achieved high clinical success rates. Self-limited cavities were associated with treatment failure, whereas internal drainage was linked to prolonged treatment duration.

- Polygenic Risk Scores Show Distinct Genetic Architectures of IBD-Associated Comorbidities. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: IBD comorbidities show selective, rather than uniform genetic overlap. These patterns are consistent with involvement of epithelial-immune related loci, although PRS data alone do not allow causal inference. Further work is needed to clarify relative contributions of inherited risk, inflammation, and environmental factors to comorbidity patterns in IBD. These findings support PRS-based precision medicine approaches for risk stratification and personalized screening.

- Predictors of Steroid Failure and Outcomes of Rescue Therapy in Severe ICI-Induced Colitis: A Multicenter Study from GETECCU. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Corticosteroid efficacy in severe IMC is limited. Clinical symptom severity and endoscopic ulcerations predict poor response to corticosteroids, while symptom severity also influences outcomes of biologic rescue therapy. Early identification of high-risk patients may improve treatment strategies.

- The Impact of Fistulizing Disease, Treatment Modalities, and Clinical Activity on Health-Related Quality of Life in Crohn's Disease. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Active luminal and perianal inflammation, rather than fistula presence alone, appears to be the principal determinant of HRQoL in CD.

- EUS-Guided Shear Wave Elastography in a Real-World Cohort: Diagnostic Accuracy and the Impact of Measurement Variability. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: EUS-SWE yields LSM values approximately 34% higher than VCTE-LSM; the two modalities are not interchangeable and require modality-specific thresholds. EUS-SWE provides accurate prediction of VCTE-defined fibrosis thresholds, particularly when IQR/LSM% ≤ 45%, and represents a promising adjunct for opportunistic liver stiffness assessment during routine EUS.
