- Treatment Effect of Perioperative (Neoadjuvant and Adjuvant) Apalutamide plus Androgen-deprivation Therapy Versus Radical Prostatectomy Alone in Patients with High-risk Localized or Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer from the PROTEUS Substudy. [Journal Article]Eur Urol. 2026 Oct 24. [Online ahead of print]EU
- CONCLUSIONS: Perioperative apalutamide plus ADT improved EFS and delayed subsequent therapy compared with SOC. Together with the blinded PROTEUS main study, these results support perioperative apalutamide plus ADT as a new therapeutic option for selected patients with HR-LPC/LAPC who are fit for surgery and 1-yr systemic therapy.

- CONCLUSIONS: The voting results can help physicians and patients navigate controversial areas of clinical management for which evidence is scant or conflicting. The findings can also help funders and policymakers in prioritising areas for future research. Importantly, APCCC 2026 once again identified important gaps (areas of no consensus) that merit evaluation in specifically designed trials.

- Epidemiology, Risk Factors, and Prevention of Prostate Cancer. [Review]Eur Urol. 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]EU
- CONCLUSIONS: The global burden of PCa because of population increase and aging is projected to rise substantially by 2050, particularly in low- and middle-income regions. Family history, germ line pathogenic variants, and ancestry are risk factors for PCa. Evidence remains insufficient to support any specific preventive intervention, although smoking, diet, and physical activity may modify risk of progression or mortality.

- Inguinal lymph node dissection (ILND) remains a cornerstone of nodal management in penile cancer, providing definitive treatment for clinically node-positive disease and surgical staging for high-risk clinically node-negative patients when dynamic sentinel node biopsy (DSNB) is unavailable. Despite its oncological importance, ILND is associated with substantial morbidity. Over the past decade, mi…

- Circulating Immune and Cancer Driver Gene Biomarkers Precede Prostate Cancer Diagnosis by over 10 yr. [Journal Article]Eur Urol. 2026 Oct 22. [Online ahead of print]EU
- CONCLUSIONS: Prospective plasma proteomic analyses identified circulating proteins associated with future PCa risk, including proteins related to immune, adhesion, angiogenesis, and PCa driver-gene pathways. These findings identify candidate protein risk factors for overall and clinically significant PCa, and warrant further validation and mechanistic evaluation.

- The phase 2 randomized LUNAR trial previously demonstrated that neoadjuvant [177]Lu-PNT2002 before stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with oligorecurrent hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (orHSPC).
