- Floppy baby syndrome as the first presentation of HADDTS associated with CTBP1 mutation. [Case Reports]
- The CtBP1 protein is a transcriptional regulator that interacts with chromatin-modifying enzymes and modulates gene expression in various cellular pathways. The dominant negative de novo molecular variant c.1024C>T, p.Arg342Trp in the CTBP1 gene is associated with hypotonia, ataxia, developmental delay, and tooth enamel defect syndrome (HADDTS). Here we present a male patient with a recurrent hot…

- Feasibility of blood count-derived inflammatory ratios in predicting haemorrhagic transformation and early functional outcomes after intravenous thrombolysis for ischaemic stroke. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):198-204.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: In this exploratory study, dNLR measured on the day after IVT was superior to NLR and other parameters in prognosis of unfavourable outcomes and recognition of intracranial haemorrhage. Nevertheless, clinical data such as pre-mRS and NIHSS combined remain the most important predictors.

- Etomidate protects against homocysteine-induced blood-brain barrier disruption via upregulation of Krüppel-like factor 2. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):186-197.FN
- As the second leading cause of death, stroke has a significant impact on public health. Homocysteine (Hcy), a non-essential sulfur-containing amino acid, has recently been found to aggravate brain injury in stroke. This effect is closely associated with oxidative stress (OS), blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction, and endothelial cell damage. Etomidate, originally developed as a sedative, has dem…

- Therapeutic effect and mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes on traumatic brain injury through the ERK signaling pathway. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):178-185.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: BMSC-Exo have a significant therapeutic effect on TBI by upregulating the expression of proteins related to the ERK signaling pathway and regulating neuron-related proteins and cell proliferation, which provides a potential new strategy for the treatment of TBI.

- Relationship of early-onset sepsis and neonatal encephalopathy: early-onset sepsis can increase short-term adverse outcomes of neonatal encephalopathy. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):173-177.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: The rate of hospitalization in EOSNE patients was higher than in NE patients. Abnormal neurological examinations, abnormal EEG, seizures, receipt of blood products, and use of antiepileptic drugs were more common in these patients.

- TRIM38-mediated ubiquitination of IκBα promotes glioma development by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):160-172.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: In summary, high levels of TRIM38 promoted glioma progression by increasing the ubiquitination of IkBa, thereby reducing IkBa protein stability and expression, and stimulating IkBa phosphorylation. This ultimately activated the NF-kB pathway, exacerbating the malignant behavior of glioma cells.

- Intracerebral ifenprodil enhances autophagy function in 6-OHDA-lesioned rats to provide synaptic plasticity. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):150-159.FN
- Progressive degeneration of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra is the primary pathological abnormality in Parkinson's disease (PD). It has been demonstrated that overactivation of glutamatergic neurons leads to excessive accumulation of intracellular calcium and impairs autophagy. To assess the neuroprotective effects of ifenprodil, rats with 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced injuries were…

- CONCLUSIONS: Elevated muscle 11 (?) -HSD1 expression before glucocorticoid therapy was associated with an improved clinical response after therapy in IMs. These findings support the potential role of 11 (?) -HSD1 as a predictive biomarker.

- Region-specific tau phosphorylation and microtubule pathology following α-synuclein exposure in the mouse brain: biochemical and ultrastructural evidence. [Journal Article]Folia Neuropathol. 2026; 64(2):125-141.FN
- Accumulating evidence indicates that pathological interactions between (?) -synuclein (ASN) and tau contribute to the progression of (?) -synucleinopathies; however, the mechanisms linking ASN exposure to tau dysregulation and neuronal cytoskeletal pathology remain incompletely understood. In the present study, we investigated whether bilateral intrastriatal injection of ASN oligomers induces alt…

- CONCLUSIONS: The research revealed that rESWT was associated with a notable decrease in the MAS score in patients who had suffered a stroke at all observed time points. Both upper and lower limbs showed significant improvement, especially in the upper limb. All ethnic groups, particularly Arabs, showed significant improvement in MAS scores after treatment.

- CONCLUSIONS: Different doses of Dex can effectively reduce the pain threshold, enhance memory ability, and improve neurological function in sleep-deprived rats. The mechanism may be mediated by regulation of PSD95 expression and phosphorylation of the PI3K/AKT pathway.
