  • Platinum resistant ovarian cancer - No longer a graveyard for drug development. [Editorial]
Gynecol Oncol. 2026 Oct 08; 214:34-42. [Online ahead of print]Tewari KSGO
  • For nearly 25 years the concept of platinum resistance has framed platinum-resistant and refractory ovarian cancer (PROC) as a high-risk, uniform subpopulation characterized as having limited therapeutic options, early disease progression and inevitable death. With the incorporation of targeted therapies in well-designed, scientifically-driven, randomized clinical trials for PROC, no longer is th…
  • Molecular biomarkers in uterine sarcomas: a review of reviews with genomic data integration. [Review]
    Gynecol Oncol. 2026 Oct 08; 214:43-58. [Online ahead of print]Iacobelli V, Romano V, … Nero CGO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Molecular profiling is essential for histotype classification in US and increasingly informative for prognostic stratification, yet predictive utility remains largely confined to a subset of tumor types. Prospective biomarker-driven trials are needed to bridge the persistent gap between biological discovery and clinical implementation.
  • The diagnostic value of serum glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) levels in endometrial cancer among obese women. [Journal Article]
Gynecol Oncol. 2026 Sep 28; 213:102-108. [Online ahead of print]Durmuş AB, Yücel GSGO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Lower serum GLP-1 levels were independently associated with endometrial cancer in obese, non-diabetic women. Although GLP-1 was negatively correlated with CRP, its association with endometrial cancer remained significant after adjustment for CRP and other relevant factors, suggesting that this relationship may not be explained solely by systemic inflammation. Serum GLP-1 may have potential as an adjunctive biomarker for risk stratification; however, prospective multicenter validation is required.
  • Survival associated with recommended risk-reducing interventions for individuals with pathogenic variants in BRCA1/2. [Review]
    Gynecol Oncol. 2026 Sep 22; 214:15-21. [Online ahead of print]Beshar I, Viveros-Carreno D, … Rauh-Hain JAGO
  • Individuals with pathogenic variants in BRCA1 and BRCA2 face increased risks of breast and ovarian cancer and are recommended to follow lifelong cancer prevention strategies to reduce their cancer-related morbidity and mortality. Many of these strategies, including annual imaging, risk-reducing surgery, and select medication, have been shown to reduce cancer incidence or shift diagnosis toward ea…
