- Efficacy and Safety of Flecainide Versus Amiodarone for the Cardioversion of paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease without evidence of residual ischemia: The FLECA-ED Randomized Clinical Trial. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with paroxysmal AF and CAD without evidence of residual and active ischemia, intravenous flecainide was superior to amiodarone for acute cardioversion, with faster conversion to sinus rhythm and fewer hospital admissions. No serious ventricular proarrhythmia through 24 hours was observed, a hypothesis-generating finding.

- Performance and Limitations of Multipolar Electrogram Mapping in Scar-Related Ventricular Tachycardia. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: Multipolar activation mapping enhances diastolic potential detection but reduces sensitivity for VT substrate identification compared to bipolar LAM. These findings inform optimal electrogram annotation approaches for VT activation and substrate mapping.

- Clinical Implications of Hemolysis after Pulsed Field Ablation - What Can We Learn from Benchtop Models and Preclinical Experiments. [Review]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]HR
- Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has emerged as a transformative technology for cardiac ablation due to its efficiency and favorable safety profile. However, intravascular hemolysis has been increasingly recognized adverse effect across preclinical and clinical studies, infrequently progressing to acute kidney injury (AKI). The mechanisms, determinants, and clinical relevance of PFA-related hemolysis …

- Safety and Efficacy of Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: PFA for AF is feasible in patients with CKD. However, patients with a decreased eGFR had a significantly higher risk of AKI and presented a numerically higher rate of non-renal complications.

- Atrial Standstill: From Molecular Genetics to Clinical Management - A Narrative Review. [Review]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]HR
- Atrial standstill (AS) is the complete absence of atrial electrical and mechanical activity caused by diffuse atrial myocardial disease, distinct from sinus node dysfunction. First documented in 1897 and often misdiagnosed as atrial fibrillation, it arises from SCN5A loss-of-function, NPPA, or EMD/LMNA mutations, muscular dystrophies, and infiltrative or idiopathic fibrotic processes. Diagnosis r…

- Complications After Permanent Pacemaker Implantation in Patients with Congenital Complete Atrioventricular Block: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: In CCAVB, permanent pacing is associated with a clinically meaningful, lifelong burden of cardiomyopathy, mortality, and device-related complications. The wide variation in outcome definitions and the largely retrospective evidence base limit firm conclusions, underscoring the need for prospective multicentre studies with standardized definitions.

- Likelihood ratio calibration aligns MAVE and automated patch-clamp functional evidence for KCNH2 variants in long QT syndrome. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: Likelihood ratio calibration allows MAVE and automated patch clamp data to be compared within the same clinical interpretation framework. Together, these functional datasets can support more transparent interpretation of KCNH2 variants in long QT syndrome.

- Functional heterogeneity of arrhythmogenic KCNQ1 S1 mutants reveals dependence on the number of KCNE1 subunits in the IKs channel complex. [Journal Article]Heart Rhythm. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]HR
- CONCLUSIONS: The functional impact of S1 mutants in Q1 varies depending on the number of associated E1, suggesting that E1:Q1 stoichiometry may represent a previously underappreciated regulator of Q1 variant phenotype.
