- Effects of calcitriol (1,25(OH)2D3) on endothelial-derived factors implicated in atheromatous plaque vulnerability. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: The effects of calcitriol on human aortic endothelial cells suggest that calcitriol modulates inflammatory and extracellular matrix-remodeling markers in TNF-α-stimulated human aortic endothelial cells. Whether these changes contribute to plaque stability requires confirmation in more complex experimental models.

- How much is enough - surgical extent of initial parathyroidectomy and long-term outcomes in MEN1-related primary hyperparathyroidism. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In MEN1-related pHPT, limited parathyroidectomy (LSPTX) is associated with significantly higher recurrence rates and shorter recurrence-free survival. Although the risk of permanent hypoparathyroidism appeared lower after LSPTX, this difference did not reach statistical significance. These findings support subtotal parathyroidectomy as the preferred initial surgical strategy in most MEN1 patients, while emphasizing lifelong biochemical surveillance.

- Weekday-weekend sleep patterning and testosterone outcomes in US men: a cross-sectional analysis of NHANES 2011-2014. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Corrected CUS showed modest cross-sectional associations with testosterone outcomes, but the broader pattern of results did not establish specificity to weekend sleep extension. Corrected CUS may instead reflect weekday-weekend sleep-pattern mismatch or broader sleep irregularity. These findings do not establish causality or support clinical use.

- Lipodystrophies and female reproduction: pathophysiology, clinical spectrum, and management across the reproductive lifespan. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Female reproductive dysfunction in lipodystrophy results from complex interactions between leptin, insulin, and gonadal steroid pathways. A multidisciplinary approach is required to optimize metabolic and reproductive outcomes, while prospective data on fertility and pregnancy under metreleptin remain crucial for future practice.

- Beyond insulin resistance: insights into the clinical utility of TyG and TG/HDL-C in hospitalized patients. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: In hospitalized patients, TyG and TG/HDL-C reflect a broader cardiometabolic-inflammatory-renal profile, warranting cautious interpretation and further study.

- Epigenetic modifications in type 2 diabetes mellitus. [Review]
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) develops through the interplay of insulin resistance and progressive beta-cell dysfunction. Beyond genetic predisposition, epigenetic regulation provides a mechanistic link between environmental exposures (e.g., overnutrition, physical inactivity, inflammation) and durable changes in gene expression in pancreatic islets and insulin-sensitive tissues (skeletal muscl…

- Hormonal target validation based on biochemical shifts in gender-affirming hormone therapy. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The innate sexual dimorphism of biochemical parameters might provide a framework for GAHT target validation. Significantly different hormonal profiles can be seen in people depending on the biochemical shift experienced during GAHT.

- An illustrative summary of receptor-mediated mechanisms involved in the therapeutic regulation of type 2 diabetes. [Review]
- Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a chronic metabolic disorder primarily affecting the metabolism of glucose in the body. It is characterized by polyphagia, polydipsia, polyuria, fatigue, and persistent hyperglycemia. It occurs mainly because of two major factors, namely, dysregulated insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells and/or reduced sensitivity of insulin-responsive tissues to insulin, i.e., insul…

- Association of body composition with all-cause mortality among U.S. adults with osteoporosis or osteopenia: a population-based study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Among U.S. adults with osteopenia or osteoporosis, low muscle mass was a robust predictor of all-cause mortality. Adiposity defined by body fat percentage was not independently associated with mortality, and fat mass demonstrated a nonlinear pattern with the lowest risk at intermediate levels. These findings support incorporating muscle assessment and refined adiposity measures into risk stratification beyond BMD alone.

- Ultra-processed food consumption and thyroid hormone profiles: a cross-sectional analysis of NHANES 2007-2012. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher UPF consumption was associated with small differences in thyroid hormone levels in this cross-sectional analysis. Given the modest effect sizes and cross-sectional design, these findings should be interpreted cautiously.

- Opportunistic screening for osteoporosis using dental radiographic indices. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Dental radiographic indices derived from panoramic radiography and CBCT may represent useful opportunistic screening tools for identification of postmenopausal women at risk for osteoporosis. The proposed cutoff values could assist clinicians in recognizing individuals who may benefit from referral for DXA assessment and further evaluation of bone mineral density.

- Improvement of small fiber neuropathy assessed by corneal confocal microscopy following semaglutide treatment: a case report and literature review. [Review]
- Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is the most common chronic complication of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and a major predisposing factor for the development of diabetic foot, one of the most devastating diabetes-related conditions associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. To date, no pharmacological therapy has been shown capable of preventing, halting, or reversing neuropathic damage. We…

- Neuroimaging findings of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland in children with growth hormone deficiency: a 25-year single-center retrospective study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Imaging of the hypothalamus and pituitary in children with GHD is essential and often reveals benign findings/variants in the region, which should be taken into account during long-term follow-up for possible deficiency of other hormones. Craniopharyngiomas remain the most common tumor causing GHD.
