- Association of serial neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio trajectories with clinical risk profiles and one-year outcomes in patients with Takotsubo syndrome. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 06; :134717. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Serial NLR trajectories were associated with 1-year outcomes in patients with TTS. Persistent/Delayed NLR Elevation identified a clinically vulnerable phenotype, likely reflecting broader systemic vulnerability rather than TTS-specific disease severity.

- Outcomes of chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention in patients ineligible for surgical revascularization. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 05; :134716. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Among patients undergoing CTO PCI, surgically ineligible patients demonstrated greater clinical complexity yet achieved similar technical success and similar adjusted outcomes compared with all other CTO PCI patients.

- CONCLUSIONS: In this multicentre, observational registry on patients with incident PAH, low baseline FAC/PASP was associated with significantly higher 1-year and 5-year all-cause mortality.

- Cost-effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with severe aortic stenosis and low surgical risk: perspective of a middle-income country's public health system. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 03; 462:134673. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with severe aortic stenosis at low surgical risk, TAVR was unlikely to be cost-effective compared with SAVR from the perspective of the Brazilian Unified Health System, primarily driven by cost differences between strategies.

- Incidence and parameters associated with early diagnosis in unexplained syncope patients undergoing implantable loop recorder. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 02; 462:134710. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed a 30.6% prevalence of early ILR-based diagnoses, raising the hypothesis that selected unexplained syncope patients might be diagnosed using 1-month ELR. Future studies are needed to confirm these results.

- Feasibility of endothelial cell isolation from routine coronary function testing in ANOCA patients. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 02; 462:134711. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates the feasibility of isolating and expanding ECs directly from catheterization material collected during routine coronary function testing in ANOCA patients. These patient-derived ECs retain characteristic endothelial features and functionality. This approach offers primary EC cultures to study the mechanisms underlying endothelial dysfunction in ANOCA.

- 10-year outcome of fractional flow reserve-guided complete revascularization in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction - A DANAMI-3 PRIMULTI substudy. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Aug 01; 462:134712. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with STEMI and multivessel disease, deferring PCI of non-culprit lesions based on FFR > 0.80 was associated with an increased risk of the combination of all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, or urgent revascularization as well as cardiovascular mortality compared to patients treated with PCI of FFR-positive non-culprit lesions.

- Coronary sinus reducer (CSR) is an emerging therapeutic invasive treatment option that can improve refractory angina symptoms. However, access to this service in the UK remains largely restricted to tertiary centres.

- Effects of CPAP on endothelial activation and fibrinolytic balance in coronary artery disease with obstructive sleep apnea: The RICCADSA randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Jul 31; 462:134701. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: CPAP treatment was associated with selective modulation of vascular biomarkers in patients with CAD and OSA, characterized by attenuation of endothelial activation reflected by reduced VCAM-1 levels, while fibrinolytic imbalance appeared largely resistant to intervention. These findings support pathway-specific vascular responses to CPAP and provide mechanistic insight into residual atherosclerotic risk in this high-risk population.

- Predictive value of D-dimer and multiple dual-energy CT indicators for assessing the risk of pulmonary embolism. [Journal Article]Int J Cardiol. 2026 Jul 31; 462:134708. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: D-dimer levels were not correlated with the risk stratification of PE. The RV/LV diameter ratio can serve as reference indicators for identifying severe PE patients. Both the perfusion defect index and the PE index demonstrated good predictive value for severe cases. These findings offer valuable insights for optimizing the clinical management and treatment strategies for PE patients.
