- Diagnostic Utility of Complete Blood Count Indices in Ferritin-Defined Microcytosis Among United States Women Aged 18-49 Years. [Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Classic CBC indices had limited utility as standalone triage tools for ferritin-defined microcytosis. Ferritin-based assessment, interpreted in the relevant clinical and inflammatory context, should remain central. Persistent microcytosis without evidence of reduced iron stores should prompt diagnostic reconsideration and, when appropriate, hemoglobinopathy-aware evaluation.

- Unsupervised Global CBC/RUO/CPD Phenotyping Identifies Haematological Clusters Enriched for Thrombocytopenia Severity and Mechanisms. [Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Unsupervised global CBC/RUO/CPD clustering identified broad laboratory phenotypes with post hoc enrichment for thrombocytopenia severity and adjudicated mechanisms. These findings support underutilised analyser-derived parameters for laboratory phenotyping and hypothesis generation, not standalone diagnosis.

[Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Aug 09. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: MRD positivity at 3 months post-treatment strongly predicted relapse, supporting its use to guide therapeutic modifications of B-ALL. Apart from NGS-based IGH clonality assays, 10-color flow cytometry offers an alternative in resource-limited settings.

- Single-Molecule Real-Time Sequencing Reveals Hidden Diversity and Corrects Misdiagnosis in α-Thalassemia. [Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Aug 05. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that SMRT sequencing technology, leveraging its advantages of long reads, single-molecule resolution, and haplotype phasing, can significantly improve the diagnostic accuracy for complex α-thalassemia genotypes. It effectively corrects misdiagnoses and omissions associated with conventional methods, thereby providing a reliable basis for precise genetic counseling and risk assessment.

- Dilution-Endpoint Comparison of a Flow Cytometric Platelet Activation Assay With PF4/Heparin ELISA and a Lateral Flow Immunoassay in Suspected HIT. [Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Jul 27. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In this pilot dilution-series study, the in-house flow cytometric assay showed dilution endpoints broadly comparable to the IgG-specific ELISA for platelet-activating anti-PF4/heparin antibodies. The LFA remained positive at lower apparent antibody levels than either the ELISA or the functional assay, but also gave a positive result in the serum that did not contain platelet-activating anti-PF4/heparin antibodies.

- Coagulation and Fibrinolysis in Normal Pregnancy and Complicated Pregnancy. [Journal Article]Int J Lab Hematol. 2026 Jul 27. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: As pregnancy progresses, enhanced coagulation with hypofibrinolysis occurs in normal pregnancy, and further hypofibrinolysis is the primary thrombotic driver in GDM and obesity. PE presents a more complex alteration in both coagulation and fibrinolytic pathways.
