- Finite element analysis of pin configurations used for paediatric supracondylar humeral fractures in an adult humerus model: evaluation of a condylo-trochlear sulcus technique. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this adult humerus-based finite element model, the L2C1 configuration showed favourable fixation stability under extension, varus, and valgus loading compared with conventional lateral-entry pinning. Further anatomical, experimental, and clinical validation is required before extrapolation to paediatric supracondylar humeral fractures and clinical use.

- Patient-related rather than surgery-related factors predict mortality following femoral stem revision for periprosthetic femoral fracture: a series of three hundred and ninety eight cases. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Mortality following femoral stem revision for PPF remains high in this elderly and vulnerable population. Patient-related factors, particularly older age, higher ASA class, male sex, and low BMI, were the main independent predictors of postoperative mortality, whereas surgical variables were not independently associated with survival after adjustment. These findings highlight the predominant role of baseline patient frailty and may help improve perioperative risk stratification and multidisciplinary management.

- Diagnostic accuracy of the Mirels score at the humerus in metastatic bone disease: a narrative review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: The Mirels score performs poorly at its standard threshold when applied to humeral lesions. A revised threshold incorporating cortical breach assessment, combined with systematic staging imaging of the humerus, may reduce avoidable morbidity.
