  • Development of an HPLC-UV-Vis Method for the Determination of Epirubicin Residues on Stainless-Steel Surfaces. [Journal Article]
J AOAC Int. 2026 Oct 28. [Online ahead of print]İnan GG, Daniş İ, Ünal DÖJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: The developed HPLC-UV-Vis method showed suitable chromatographic performance for epirubicin determination under the investigated solution-based conditions and was applied to residue monitoring in swab samples collected from stainless-steel surfaces following cleaning. Because surface recovery was assessed at only one spiking level, the complete surface-sampling and extraction procedure was not comprehensively validated.
  • Validation of a lateral flow assay for the qualitative detection of okadaic acid-group toxins in shellfish. [Journal Article]
J AOAC Int. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]Khan DH, Turner AD, … Safavieh HJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: The Sensoreal DSP Alert™ LFA is a robust, sensitive, and user-friendly screening method for qualitative determination of OA-group toxins in bivalve mollusk shellfish. The assay demonstrated excellent agreement with the LC-MS/MS reference method, no false-negative results at the selected decision threshold, reliable ruggedness, and strong selectivity. The scanner-based Low/Medium/High classification provides additional practical value for shellfish hazard management and end-product testing.
  • Current Applications of Hyperspectral Imaging Techniques Combined with Chemometrics for Food Analysis. [Journal Article]
    J AOAC Int. 2026 Oct 15. [Online ahead of print]Guo L, Yu H, … Kharbach MJA
  • With the growing demand for high-quality and safe food products, innovations in food detection methods are becoming increasingly important. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technique combined with chemometrics, has emerged as an efficient, non-destructive, and high-precision approach, offering innovative solutions for food quality and safety analysis in the food sector. HSI technology enables the simu…
  • Research progress on identification and quality control analysis of Eupolyphaga sinensis Walker. [Journal Article]
    J AOAC Int. 2026 Oct 08. [Online ahead of print]Han J, Xiong L, … Zhang LJA
  • Eupolyphaga sinensis Walker is an important animal-derived medicinal material, yet the analytical evidence supporting its authentication and quality control has not been critically mapped across method classes. This scoping review, reported with reference to the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR), maps methods used for Eupolyphaga sinensis Walker, related or confounding materials, …
  • Research Progress on Proteomics-Based Detection Techniques for Meat Adulteration. [Journal Article]
    J AOAC Int. 2026 Oct 01. [Online ahead of print]Li T, Sheng H, … Zhang SJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: Proteomics provides high-resolution, multi-target analytical capabilities for complex matrices. Future directions for this field include the translation of technological into biosensors and the global standardization of peptide libraries. Potential leadership for these efforts could come from international organizations, with the aim of advancing industrial and regulatory applications.
  • A Risk-Based Framework to Optimize Microbiological Testing of Primary Packaging Materials. [Journal Article]
J AOAC Int. 2026 Sep 24. [Online ahead of print]Harold Alexis PR, Willy CV, … Gómez-Pliego RJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: These findings support a risk-based strategy to optimize the frequency of microbiological testing. Historical microbiological performance represents the primary basis for reduced testing, while Aw and material attributes provide complementary evidence. This approach enables optimization of testing under controlled conditions without replacing microbiological control, in alignment with ICH Q9(R1), ICH Q6A, and relevant compendial guidance.
  • STRATUM-Structured Framework for Reporting, Assessment, and Translational Utility of Metagenomics. [Journal Article]
J AOAC Int. 2026 Sep 09. [Online ahead of print]Russell JA, Keenum I, … Sozhamannan SJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: Realizing the operational potential of mNGS requires evidentiary standards responsive to decision context rather than fixed across applications. STRATUM offers a consequence-tiered model for quality and reporting in applied metagenomics, supporting reproducible, transparent, and defensible sequencing-based surveillance across public health and biodefense domains.
