- EFCD Expert Non-Consensus on Material and Technique Use for Direct Class II Composites With Guidance on Restoring Complex Cavities. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: International experts used a wide variety of materials and techniques for restoration of class II cavities with direct composite. Consensus was therefore not pursued. There are many potential techniques which can offer pragmatic solutions to directly restore complex class II cavities that are not beyond general practitioners.

- Debonding of Clear Aligner Attachments With Fluorescence-Aided Identification Technique (FIT): An In Vitro Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: While neither debonding time nor enamel loss were affected, FIT significantly reduced residual composite after attachment removal, suggesting that FIT may contribute to more standardized clinical outcomes. Future in vivo studies with larger sample sizes, multiple operators, and different adhesive systems are needed to validate these findings.

- Influence of Tea-Induced Discoloration and Whitening Protocols on the Optical and Surface Properties of Resin Composites: An In Vitro Study. [Journal Article]J Adhes Dent. 2026 Sep 11; 28:153-162.JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Tea staining significantly affected the color stability and surface roughness of all composite materials. FZ demonstrated the highest color stability, whereas HC showed the greatest discoloration and surface roughness. Whitening procedures partially reversed discoloration but did not restore baseline values. Overall, composites with finer filler structures exhibited better optical and surface properties compared with conventional hybrid composites.

- Influence of Radiotherapy Timing on Sealer-Dentin Adhesion: A Confocal Microscopy and Push-Out Bond Strength Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Radiotherapy timing significantly influenced sealer-dentin adhesion, varying by root canal levels and material types. Radiotherapy applied after obturation adversely affected the sealer-dentin interaction, resulting in reduced tubule penetration and bond strength, especially for BioRoot RCS.

- The Effect of Different Types of Adhesive Systems on Marginal Integrity of Class II Resin Composite Restoration. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Within the limitations of this study, the self-etch application of universal adhesives provided superior durability of marginal seals for DME compared to the etch-and-rinse mode. Optimizing matrix application also minimized the influence of concavity geometry.

- Influence of Tooth Whitening After Resin Infiltration on the Shear Bond Strength of Orthodontic Brackets. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: RI followed by bleaching negatively impacts bracket bonding strength, with a significant reduction observed after home bleaching, while in-office bleaching showed no such effect.

- Effect of Different Specimen Preparation Methods on Dentin Shear Bond Strength: Polyethylene Tubes vs Jig System. [Journal Article]J Adhes Dent. 2026 Jun 04; 28:75-81.JA
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that the specimen preparation method plays a critical role in the reliability and interpretation of SBS testing outcomes. The jig-based approach may provide more consistent and reproducible SBS results compared to tube-based methods, highlighting the importance of standardized specimen fabrication in adhesive dentistry research.

- Improving Orthodontic Bracket Adhesion to Monolithic Zirconia: Pretreatment Protocols Across Different Zirconia Types. [Journal Article]J Adhes Dent. 2026 May 29; 28:65-74.JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Although AP pretreatment achieved the highest bond strength values, its clinical application is limited by the risk of surface damage and uncontrollable intraoral pressures. SiB pretreatment provided clinically sufficient bond strength while preserving zirconia surfaces, representing a safer and more practical alternative. Pumice slurry alone was inadequate for reliable bonding. Thus, SiB can be recommended as a minimally invasive and effective clinical protocol for orthodontic bonding to zirconia restorations.

- Comparative In Vitro Evaluation of Residual Fiber Contamination from Applicators in the Adhesive Interface. [Journal Article]J Adhes Dent. 2026 May 13; 28:57-64.JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Both applicator brands released microscopic fibers that became incorporated into the adhesive interface, revealing an unrecognized source of contamination and leading to rejection of the null hypothesis. Fiber distribution was not homogeneous across cavity surfaces. The proposed methodology proved effective for detecting and localizing applicator-derived residues, highlighting an overlooked source of contamination that may influence adhesive performance and restoration durability.
