- Associations Between Early Vascular Aging and Quality of Life in the Adult Population: Pooled Data From 2 Epidemiological Studies. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Oct 13. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Vascular deterioration is related to physical health and perceived emotional well-being, reinforcing the usefulness of the EVA model as a comprehensive marker of vascular aging. These findings suggest that individuals' perceptions of their physical and mental health are closely associated with EVA risk.

- Associations Between Self-Care and Hypertension Knowledge, Illness Perceptions, and Depression in Patients With Hypertension. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study highlight the importance of improving hypertension knowledge, addressing illness perceptions, and implementing lifestyle-focused interventions to enhance self-care among patients with hypertension. Although depression was not an independent predictor, it was associated with poorer self-care, indicating that psychological assessment and support should be considered.

- Caregiver Self-Efficacy as a Mediator of Caregiver Contribution to Self-Care in Coronary Heart Disease: A Cross-Sectional Structural Equation Modeling Study. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Caregiver self-efficacy is a key factor associated with CC to self-care in coronary heart disease and may represent a potential target for interventions aimed at improving caregiver involvement in patient self-care.

- Nurse-Led Qigong Program Improves Exercise Capacity, Quality of Life, and Fatigue in Patients With Heart Failure: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Chan-Chuang Qigong effectively improved exercise capacity, quality of life, and fatigue in patients with heart failure. The lack of notable improvement in cardiac function may reflect the effects of ongoing regular medical treatments. Future research should extend the exercise period to detect potential changes in key cardiac metrics and reduce measurement variability.

- CONCLUSIONS: Mindfulness may reduce race-related vigilance during pregnancy. In addition to individually delivered interventions, broader efforts are needed to address discriminatory policies and practices within healthcare systems to reduce racial disparities in pregnancy outcomes.

- Health Behavior Patterns Associated With Cardiovascular Risk in Korean College Students: A National Survey-Based Latent Class Analysis. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Nov-Dec 01; 41(6):E616-E622.JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Health behaviors clustered into distinct patterns and were differentially associated with biological and psychological risk indicators. These findings emphasize considering co-occurring lifestyle behaviors and incorporating objective biomarkers in cardiovascular risk assessment. Interventions targeting multiple behaviors, including sleep and diet, may be more effective than single-behavior approaches. Campus and primary care nurses may implement integrated behavioral screening and brief interventions, supporting early cardiovascular risk prevention in young adults.

- Trajectories of Cognitive Function, Affective Symptoms, and Self-Care in Heart Failure: A Prospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Sep 18. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Older adults with HF demonstrated progressive cognitive decline and worsening affective symptoms over 12 months, whereas self-care remained relatively stable. Baseline frailty was not associated with any differential longitudinal changes. Exploratory correlations should be interpreted as hypothesis-generating.

- Current Challenges and Future Innovation in Rural Heart Failure Care: A Qualitative Analysis. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Nov-Dec 01; 41(6):E750-E757.JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients living with heart failure in a rural setting experience unique challenges inherent to their disease and the community in which they receive their care. Interviewees proposed addressing these challenges through multidisciplinary, systems-level changes to reframe the approach to managing heart failure for patients and their care partners.

- Factors Influencing App Use in Elderly Cardiac Patients. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Nov-Dec 01; 41(6):509-519.JC
- CONCLUSIONS: App adoption depends on alignment among design features, older adults' capabilities, social networks, and organizational and policy contexts. Fragmented implementation, heterogeneous outcomes, and short-term projects undermine sustainability and equity. Co-designed, theory-informed interventions, hybrid effectiveness-implementation studies, and policies enhancing accessibility, digital literacy, and integration into geriatric cardiology pathways are warranted.

- The Impact of Cardiac and Respiratory Arrests on Inpatient Death, Length of Stay, and Hospital Expenditures in the United States: A Secondary Analysis. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Sep 09. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: There are significant clinical and economic burdens associated with CA and RA. Cardiac arrest and RA prevention, early recognition, and post-arrest care must improve in hospitals across the United States. Future research should focus on validating the findings of this study and exploring how palliative care can impact the observed outcomes.

- Greater Improvements in Health-Related Quality of Life Following Cardiac Rehabilitation Among Women and Ethnic-Minority Patients. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Nurs. 2026 Sep 09. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Women and ethnic-minority patients derive substantial HRQoL benefits from CR despite lower baseline status, yet remain less engaged in rehabilitation programs. These findings highlight a critical gap in secondary prevention and underscore the need for targeted, equity-oriented strategies to improve participation and maximize outcomes in high-benefit populations.
