  • Interactions between cytochrome P450 enzymes and traditional Chinese herbs: A comprehensive review. [Journal Article]

  • Cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, predominantly expressed in the liver and intestine, are central to phase I drug metabolism. The CYP1, CYP2, and particularly CYP3 families account for most oxidative biotransformation and nearly half of all drug elimination. Their activities are modulated by genetic polymorphisms, environmental factors, and drug interactions, contributing to interindividual variabil…
  • Recurrence after modified Type III cordectomy for glottic cancer: Predisposing factors and management. [Journal Article]
J Chin Med Assoc. 2026 Jul 03. [Online ahead of print]Liu CH, Chang CF, … Chu PYJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Endophytic morphology and spindle cell carcinoma pathology are significant predictors of local recurrence after modified type III cordectomy. Careful postoperative surveillance is particularly important in these patients. Primary treatment with TLM preserves multiple salvage treatment options and enables high rates of laryngeal preservation in patients with recurrent disease.
  • Respiratory syncytial virus infection in adults: Clinical manifestations, outcomes, and vaccines. [Journal Article]

  • Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an RNA virus transmitted via droplets and affects individuals across all age groups. Although RSV is increasingly being recognized as a key pathogen in adults, differentiating RSV infection from other acute viral infections solely on the basis of clinical features is challenging. Polymerase chain reaction is the gold standard for RSV detection. Notably, RSV ac…
  • Causal effects among hypertension, osteoporosis, and metabolites: A Mendelian randomization study. [Journal Article]
    J Chin Med Assoc. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]Chen Y, Wang W, … Su YJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed a positive correlation between hypertension and OP, and suggested that blood metabolites may play a mediating role in it. These findings provide clues for a deeper understanding of the potential mechanisms between hypertension and bone health, and lay a scientific foundation for exploring targeted intervention strategies in the future.
  • Biologics reduced infections in ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis under immunosuppressants. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: Adjunctive bDMARD therapy was associated with a substantially reduced risk of serious infection in AS, PsA and the overall SpA cohort, potentially because of effective systemic inflammation suppression in SpA and skin restoration barrier in PsA. The elevated risk associated with SSZ in AS may reflect channeling bias in refractory patients. Early and appropriate use of bDMARDs in SpA may achieve disease control without compromising immune defense against infections.
