  • A Case of Alopecia Secondary to Dupilumab in a Patient With Atopic Dermatitis. [Case Reports]
    J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 19. [Online ahead of print]Myhre J, Miedema J, Al-Rohil RNJC
  • Dupilumab inhibits the signaling pathway of interleukins 4 and 13, and can be effective in the management of treatment-refractory atopic dermatitis, with alopecia areata being uncommonly reported as a side effect and only limited to several cases. This is the case of a patient who experienced dupilumab-induced alopecia in treatment for atopic dermatitis and whose histological exam represented fin…
  • PRAME Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Profiling in Undifferentiated Cutaneous Pleomorphic Neoplasms: A Case Series of 8 Tumors. [Journal Article]
J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 18. [Online ahead of print]Parker DJ, Agni M, … Momtahen SJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Molecular profiling may provide supportive diagnostic evidence for melanoma lineage in a subset of undifferentiated cutaneous pleomorphic neoplasms when interpreted in conjunction with morphology, immunohistochemistry, and clinical findings. In contrast, diffuse PRAME expression was observed in a nonspecific fashion both in cases with melanoma driver mutations and molecularly nonspecific cases in this cohort, limiting its utility as a standalone screening test for triaging molecular analysis.
  • Lichen Sclerosus-Like Changes in Acrochordons: A Case Series. [Case Reports]
    J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 15. [Online ahead of print]Gomolin T, Varano AT, … Junkins-Hopkins JMJC
  • Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease typically affecting anogenital regions, with occasional extragenital involvement; however, its occurrence in acrochordons is seldom reported. We present eight cases of LS-like changes within acrochordons in patients with no prior history of LS elsewhere. Histopathologic examination confirmed characteristic LS features localized to the a…
  • Granuloma Annulare-Like Lesions in a Patient With Sarcoidosis: Case Report and Review of Literature. [Case Reports]
J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]Bhatty MA, Mohsin N, … Piliang MJC
  • Sarcoidosis and granuloma annulare (GA) are two granulomatous skin conditions with significant clinical and histopathologic overlap, whose diagnosis may be further complicated by their potential to co-exist within a similar patient. Evolving literature supports the utility of special staining and immunohistochemistry (IHC) to aid in distinguishing these and other granulomatous skin disorders. Her…
  • GVHD-Associated Angiomatosis: An Overlooked Vascular Sequela of Chronic Graft-Versus-Host Disease. [Case Reports]
J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]Mbongo WE, Stephens MR, … Nazarian RMJC
  • Graft-versus-host disease-associated angiomatosis (GVHD-AA) is a rare clinicopathologic variant of chronic GVHD characterized by benign vascular proliferations arising within areas of sclerodermatous skin change. The entity was formally named in 2014 and presents clinically as red-to-violaceous papules or nodules, confined to fibrotic GVHD skin. We present a case of GVHD-AA in a 29-year-old man w…
  • Histopathologic Features of an Attenuated Onychomatricoma: A Novel Variant. [Case Reports]
    J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 05. [Online ahead of print]Spindler A, Maas D, … Rubin AIJC
  • Onychomatricoma (OM) is a rare benign fibroepithelial nail unit tumor that remains frequently underrecognized, with evolving histopathologic criteria. Existing descriptions have largely focused on well-developed lesions, leaving the histopathologic features of smaller, localized lesions poorly characterized. We report an attenuated OM in a 45-year-old woman highlighting subtle but characteristic …
  • Cross-Reactivity of Treponema pallidum Polyclonal Antibody With Mycobacterium Species. [Journal Article]
J Cutan Pathol. 2026 Oct 05. [Online ahead of print]Zaladonis AG, Waseh S, … Lee JBJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that T. pallidum IHC can highlight diverse Mycobacterium species, a cross-reactivity that pathologists should recognize to avoid false-positive interpretations. In the appropriate clinical context, this cross-reactivity may be utilized to further support the diagnosis of leprosy, given the consistently strong staining observed with M. leprae.
