- Development and Psychometric Assessment of a Measurement Instrument for Functioning and Function-Affecting Factors in Women With Breast Cancer: A Rasch Analysis Approach. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the reliability and structural validity of this ICF-based instrument for assessing functioning and function-affecting factors in women with breast cancer. Further validation in independent populations is recommended before broader clinical implementation.

- Integrating Traditional Persian Medicine With Quantum Biology: Towards a New Model in Personalised and Preventive Healthcare. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Bridging TPM with quantum biology provides a novel paradigm that reconciles traditional holistic insights with rigorous biophysical foundations. While theoretically promising, translational application necessitates targeted empirical validation and careful consideration of ethical, technological, and clinical translation barriers.

- Investigating the Distribution: Signal, Noise, and the Resolution Toolkit in Evidence-Based Medicine. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Statistical methods reveal patterns and nominate informative patients, but neither positive nor negative results establish or exclude treatment-relevant classes. Taxonomic development remains investigative: anomalies must be preserved, competing explanations eliminated and independent evidence brought into consilience. The Toolkit complements adjudicatory EBM by organising this work.

- Viewpoint of the General Population on Health-Related Recommendations: A Qualitative Content Analysis. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: To obtain specific information, most participants preferred the plain language version of the recommendation. However, some may prefer the standard language version for a more complex picture. Accessibility, time, attractiveness, and trustworthiness should be considered when developing health-related recommendations for various groups of care recipients and the general lay population. Our findings may contribute to the more effective development of plain language recommendations.

- Application of the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability in Health Research: A Scoping Review. [Review]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: The TFA has been rapidly adopted in health and healthcare research, but important differences remain in how acceptability is assessed across studies. Proposed relational, cultural or contextual fit, and economic dimensions highlight potential areas for future refinement of the framework.

- Medicine's Unfinished Revolution. Part 1-The Case for Change: Systems Thinking and the Soul of Medicine. [Journal Article]
- Medicine has historically progressed by addressing anomalies that its prevailing conceptual framework could not explain, subsequently expanding that framework to incorporate them. This essay, the first of two, contends that the current anomalies confronting medicine-chronic multimorbidity and suffering arising from the interactions between conditions and lived experiences-are fundamentally differ…

- Quality Disparities and Recommendation Consistency of Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines: A Systematic Appraisal With the AGREE II Instrument. [Systematic Review]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Recent ACS and ACOG updates reflect a global shift toward primary hrHPV testing and self-collection, yet persistent disparities in applicability and editorial independence remain. Standardised, context-sensitive recommendations are urgently needed, especially in resource-limited settings.

- Restoring Diagnostic Stability in Complex Illness: Integrated Longitudinal Feedback in Clinical Care (RD). [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: The framework generates empirically testable predictions in clinical environments characterized by multisystem comorbidity and diagnostic instability. This provides a pathway for evaluating whether restoration of longitudinal diagnostic responsibility improves diagnostic convergence, reduces redundant evaluation, and stabilizes care for complex illness.

- Coding Pregnancy: How Classification May Shape Clinical Research and Practice. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Pregnancy-related information is fragmented across different coding elements, without explicitly capturing the crucial temporal and clinical context. This structural limitation may hinder the reconstruction of pregnancy episodes, affecting the capacity of observational research to compensate for interventional research gaps. To overcome this, we propose a three-step approach: (1) providing dedicated training on the correct use and interpretation of existing classification systems; (2) complementing these infrastructures with a standardised minimum dataset to systematically link pregnancy variables; and (3) establishing a feedback loop from secondary research to continuously improve clinical documentation. Ultimately, this strategy can support robust RWD generation and more inclusive, evidence-based care.

- Structured Skepticism as a Meta-Regulatory Architecture in Clinical Reasoning: Toward an Epistemology of Diagnostic Judgment. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Recognizing skepticism as meta-regulatory architecture clarifies mechanisms underlying diagnostic reliability and reframes epistemic humility as structural necessity. The framework offers implications for medical education, diagnostic safety and AI-integrated clinical environments and invites future empirical validation.

- Developing a Theory-Driven Construct of Clinical Usefulness for Evaluating Post-Hoc Explainable AI: Foundational Work for a Multi-Phase Instrument Program. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study establishes the theoretical foundation and initial operationalization of a clinician-centered construct for evaluating XAI explanations. It fills a critical gap by offering a theory-driven, contextually grounded approach to explanation evaluation, and provides the basis for subsequent psychometric testing in a multi-phase instrument development program.

- HandHero: Feasibility and Acceptability of a Serious Game to Support Patient Companions' Hand Hygiene: A Single-Group Pilot Study. [Journal Article]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Delivering HandHero in this setting was feasible, and the game was well received by patient companions, a group that receives little infection-prevention training. The pre-post differences in observed compliance were mixed and, in the absence of a control group, cannot support any conclusion about effect.

- Clinical Heterogeneity in Response to Exercise-Based Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation: A Critical Narrative Review and Staged Clinical Response Framework. [Review]J Eval Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 32(7).JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Clinical heterogeneity in exercise-based musculoskeletal rehabilitation is multidimensional and explained mainly by prognostic, mechanistic, or contextual factors rather than confirmed treatment-effect modifiers. The proposed staged framework offers a testable, evidence-informed approach to evaluating apparent non-response, pending prospective validation.
