- Surgical extrusion with the Seif surgical extrusion protocol: Up to seven-year outcomes in 201 consecutive treatments. [Journal Article]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Oct 01. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: In a large consecutive series of severely compromised teeth initially considered nonrestorable and planned for extraction, surgical extrusion using the SSEP achieved high rates of retention in function with biologic stability during a follow-up of up to 7 years, supporting the protocol as a tooth preservation option that expands restorative decision-making.

- Influence of proximal box preparation on fracture resistance of single-retainer resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses: In vitro and in silico biomechanical analysis. [Journal Article]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Missing lateral incisors can be replaced with 5YSZ RBFDPs. Proximal box preparation in the incisal third of the abutment may improve predicted fracture resistance and biomechanical behavior while preserving enamel for better bond strength.

- A custom palatal jig for segmented complete arch interim prosthesis shell: A step-by-step technique. [Journal Article]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]JP
- Complete arch maxillary teeth preparation for fixed prosthodontic rehabilitation requires interim restorations that maintain the planned occlusal plane, vertical dimension of occlusion, and esthetics while accommodating multiple paths of insertion. Conventional splinted shell techniques require seating along a single path of insertion and may result in incomplete seating, distortion, marginal dis…

- Evaluation of bond strength between relining materials and 3D printed interim crown materials: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Based on the available in vitro evidence, PMMA, bis-acrylic resin, and flowable composite resin demonstrate comparable bond strength when used to reline 3D printed interim crowns without surface treatment. Surface treatments may enhance bond strength; however, the effectiveness of these protocols depends on the materials involved. Because of high heterogeneity and limited standardized methodologies, the results should be interpreted with caution, and further laboratory and clinical studies are warranted.

- Fracture load of interim 3-unit fixed dental prostheses fabricated using contemporary CAD-CAM polymers: An in vitro study. [Journal Article]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The fracture load of 3-unit FDPs fabricated from milled and 3D printed contemporary CAD-CAM resin materials for interim tooth-supported restorations differed significantly. Among the materials tested, the 3D printed resin presented a fracture load that was either comparable to or exceeded that of the milled polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)-based restorative polymers evaluated.

- Formulation-dependent hydrothermal degradation of ultratranslucent 5Y-TZP zirconia. [Journal Article]J Prosthet Dent. 2026 Sep 24. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The aging resistance of 5Y-TZP ceramics was found to be highly formulation-specific, governed by grain-boundary hydration rather than bulk phase transformation. Certain ultratranslucent formulations rival conventional zirconia in stability, while pigment-rich variants exhibit hydrolytic degradation similar to that of lithium disilicate.
