  • CONCLUSIONS: These findings, presented in an integrated risk-accessibility framework, suggest interventions that might improve health equity through the seasonally targeting of vector control, improved urban drainage and waste management, and strategically equitably diversifying access to health care. The methodology employed offers a standard, easy-to-replicate approach to sustainable MBD management practices in mid-sized Indian cities.

The low frequency of eschar and diagnostic variability underscore the need for heightened clinical suspicion and standardized testing. Given the very high heterogeneity, pooled estimates should be interpreted cautiously, and readers are encouraged to examine the range and median values presented.

  • CONCLUSIONS: The combined use of morphology with cox1 and ITS2 sequencing enhances species identification and phylogenetic resolution in diverse mosquito vectors. While cox1 serves as a robust primary barcode for routine surveillance, ITS2 provides additional resolution for cryptic taxa., However, population genetic inferences based on mitochondrial data alone should be interpreted cautiously. These findings support the strengthening of molecularly informed vector surveillance pipelines and backup more precise, evidence-based vector control in endemic settings.
