- Laryngology Patient-Reported Outcome Measures and Demographics as Predictors of Dysphonia-Related Procedures. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher VHI-10 scores, CCOD, and male sex may be predictive of the need for subsequent voice-related procedures in new dysphonia patients. These data may be useful for initial visit screening and triage in resource-constrained voice clinics.

- Quality of Life Trajectories After Partial Laryngectomy Versus Total Laryngectomy Stratified by Voice Rehabilitation Success. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Voice rehabilitation status may be associated with long-term QoL patterns after laryngeal cancer surgery. Successful rehabilitation after TL may be associated with more favorable long-term QoL patterns, with outcomes in selected domains approaching those of the PL group, whereas unsuccessful rehabilitation may be associated with persistently poorer outcomes.

- Cross-Validation of Acoustic Roughness Index in Korean. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: The ARI demonstrated strong concurrent validity and excellent diagnostic performance for discriminating dysphonic voices from normal controls in Korean speakers. The proposed cutoff of 2.29 provides clinically useful discrimination and supports the cross-linguistic applicability of the ARI as an objective adjunct to auditory-perceptual voice assessment.

- Investigating the Effects of Amateur Singing on Speaking Voice Quality, Function, and Motor Control Across Adulthood. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Findings suggest that amateur singing is associated with specific acoustic and perceptual benefits, although some of these associations may not be found in older adults. Longitudinal studies are needed to clarify the potential benefits of amateur singing.

- Voice-Related Outcomes Among Patients With Temporomandibular Disorders: A Systematic Review and Narrative Synthesis. [Review]J Voice. 2026 Oct 08. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Voice symptoms and abnormal voice findings are frequently reported among patients with TMD and may worsen with increasing TMD severity. However, methodological heterogeneity and predominantly cross-sectional designs limit causal inference. Future studies should use standardized TMD definitions, matched controls, and integrated voice assessment methods.

- Proposed Classification System for Office-based Blue Laser Tissue Effect in Reinke's Edema. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: The proposed 4-point classification system for tissue effects of blue laser treatment of RE had an excellent inter-rater and intra-rater reliability. By standardizing the description of the blue laser-induced tissue effect in RE, this classification could help improve consistent communication among laryngologists and other voice care providers.

- Patient Selection Trends in Age, Gender, and Voice Severity in Patients with Vocal Fold Paresis. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 08. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides objective data for describing patient treatment selection following the diagnosis of vocal fold paresis. These results suggest that age and voice severity at the time of diagnosis are factors associated with initial patient treatment selection.

- Automated Tessituragram Analysis Software of Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) Files to Quantitatively Assess Musical Demands. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Sep 22. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: The software developed in this research quantitatively analyzes single-track MIDI files and outputs various metrics of musical demands. Outputs from the software align with the results of previously published research using manual data entry methods. Future scholarship will utilize this software to generate larger datasets and assess generalizable trends in musical compositions.

- Proteomic Stratification Across Human Male Vocal Fold Tissue Layers. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: This exploratory study provides an initial descriptive comparison of protein expression across human vocal fold layers, with VL serving as a potential transitional zone between the immunomodulatory cover and contractile muscle. These findings confirm the well-established histological, cellular, and functional differences among these layers, and provide preliminary data to inform future studies of laryngeal biology, pathology, and intervention.

- Objective and Subjective Voice Assessment in Children With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Although the values of acoustic measurement were mostly similar between children with ADHD and TD group, children with ADHD demonstrated significantly higher parent-perceived voice handicap and worse overall perceptual voice quality. Given that the Persian CVHI-10-P identified dysphonia in 20.93% of children with ADHD, incorporating parent-reported voice handicap measures into routine clinical settings is strongly recommended.

- Correlation Between Sleep and Voice Disorders in Patients with Fibromyalgia. [Journal Article]J Voice. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Sleep and voice disorders are more common in patients with FMS in comparison to controls. The presence of an association, albeit mild, between sleep disturbance and self-perceived voice handicap underscores the need to screen for sleep disorders in FMS patients presenting with dysphonia.
