- JAK Inhibitor Cycling Shows Higher Drug Retention than Biologic Switching Following First JAK Inhibitor Failure in Rheumatoid Arthritis. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Oct 13; :106150. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: Among patients with rheumatoid arthritis who had an inadequate response to their first JAK inhibitor, cycling to another JAK inhibitor was associated with superior 12-month drug retention with comparable short-term clinical effectiveness.

- Risk of demyelinating events associated with TNF-inhibitors compared with conventional synthetic disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs in rheumatoid arthritis: results from the French National Health Data System. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Oct 10; :106147. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: Demyelinating events are rare in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This study found a statistically significant increased risk of coded demyelinating event associated with TNF-inhibitors exposure compared with conventional treatments.

- Inflammatory rheumatic diseases under mogamulizumab: a multicenter series of 11 cases. [Case Reports]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Oct 10; :106145. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: MOGA may induce disabling IR, potentially via CCR4+ regulatory T-cell depletion. Early recognition and treatment with corticosteroids ± methotrexate are essential, though MOGA discontinuation may be required.

- CONCLUSIONS: In GPA patients, an increase in ANCA, a doubling of ANCA or an increase in PR3-ANCA alone was unable to predict relapse at 18 months sufficiently reliably to consider treatment escalation on an individual basis.

- Residual glucocorticoid use at Boolean remission in rheumatoid arthritis: An analysis of the FRANK Registry. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Sep 21; 94(2):106140. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: Residual GC use at remission did not improve remission maintenance. Given the lack of additional clinical benefit and the numerical trend toward higher safety events, GC-free remission is the true therapeutic goal, highlighting the need to overcome reliance on GCs through active tapering and discontinuation.

- Efficacy and Tolerance of a Combination of Targeted Therapies Indicated for Asthma and Chronic Inflammatory Rheumatism. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Sep 19; :106144. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: This is the largest case series to date on dual targeted therapy for CIR and allergic asthma. Rheumatologic control was generally maintained, particularly when rheumatologic treatment was initiated first. Pulmonary infections were the main adverse events, highlighting the need for caution in patients with additional pulmonary comorbidities.

- Weight change and longitudinal disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis: A real-world cohort study. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Sep 19; 94(2):106143. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: In RA with predominantly class I obesity, we did not observe a clear association between routine clinical care weight change and improved inflammatory disease activity. These findings should be interpreted cautiously given the modest sample size and limited precision, and small clinically meaningful effects cannot be excluded.

- Infection risk associated with steroid-sparing therapies in GCA, PMR, and ANCA-associated vasculitis: A systematic review. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Steroid-sparing therapies reduced glucocorticoid exposure with varying magnitudes but were not consistently associated with lower infection risk. These findings underscore the heightened risk of infection when these novel therapies are used in combination with glucocorticoids when the glucocorticoid dose cannot be adequately tapered, particularly in older adults.

- Lower socioeconomic status is associated with a more severe course of rheumatoid arthritis: A 7-year follow-up study. [Journal Article]Joint Bone Spine. 2026 Sep 18; 94(2):106141. [Online ahead of print]JB
- CONCLUSIONS: RA-patients with low SES maintained higher DAS44 throughout the disease course and were less likely to achieve Boolean remission. General SES-related factors (patient delay, BMI, smoking and work-related physical strain) did not explain the association with SES, leaving the SES-related causal factor still unknown.
