  • To eat, or not to eat… dietary patterns and the clinical recognition of insulinoma: a case report. [Case Reports]
    J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Sep 01; 37(5):447-452.Timpani L, De Rosa L, … Cittadini AJB
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that dietary habits may influence the clinical presentation of insulinoma. Marked carbohydrate restriction may unmask hypoglycemia, whereas high-carbohydrate intake may attenuate symptoms and contribute to delayed diagnosis. Careful assessment of dietary habits should be part of the evaluation of patients with recurrent unexplained hypoglycemia suggestive of insulinoma.
  • Microbiome and atherosclerosis: hype or future therapeutic target? [Review]
J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Sep 16. [Online ahead of print]Hussain Z, Gali M, … Swathi NLJB
  • From 2010 to 2025, evidence increasingly identifies the gut microbiome, microbial dysbiosis, trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) as modulators of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. We conducted a narrative review of literature retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and the Clinical Trials Registry-India (CTRI), covering studies published between January 2010 and Ma…
  • A recent update on luteolin: mechanisms and therapeutic implications in cardiac disease. [Review]
    J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Sep 25; 37(5):361-379.Javed A, Mahmood T, … Khan ABJB
  • To evaluate the cardioprotective effects of luteolin, a naturally occurring flavonoid, in mitigating critical pathological processes linked to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), including oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and endothelial damage. Luteolin, found in celery, parsley, green peppers, and chamomile tea, exhibits significant cardioprotective properties through vari…
  • Obstetric pharmacogenomics. [Review]
J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Sep 01; 37(5):355-360.Eke ACJB
  • Pregnancy profoundly alters drug disposition through dynamic physiologic adaptations affecting absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion. Although pharmacogenomics has transformed precision therapeutics across multiple medical specialties, its application during pregnancy remains limited because conventional pharmacogenomic models assume stable genotype-phenotype relationships that do n…
  • High frequency of sperm function defects in normozoospermic infertile men. [Journal Article]
J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Jul 21. [Online ahead of print]Singh V, Chakraborty A, Trivedi SJB
  • CONCLUSIONS: Functional sperm defects may underlie infertility in a substantial proportion of normozoospermic men. Incorporating sperm function tests as second-line investigations may improve diagnosis and management of unexplained male infertility.
  • Personalized antiplatelet therapy: are we ready for a precision medicine approach. [Review]
J Basic Clin Physiol Pharmacol. 2026 Jul 09. [Online ahead of print]Chaparala SP, Kshatri AHS, … Naraginiti SLBJB
  • Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), combining aspirin with a P2Y12 inhibitor, remains central to secondary prevention after acute coronary syndrome and percutaneous coronary intervention. However, substantial interindividual variability in antiplatelet response, particularly clopidogrel resistance associated with CYP2C19 polymorphisms, has challenged the conventional "one-size-fits-all" approach an…
