- Agreement of Anterior Segment Biometrics Measured Using Image-Registered Swept-Source OCT and High-Frequency Ultrasound Biomicroscopy. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 28. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: The Insight 100 demonstrated excellent intra-device repeatability and good-to-excellent inter-device agreement with ANTERION measurements for most angle parameters. However, angle-based measurements, particularly in the nasal sector, were not interchangeable. These findings highlight the importance of device-specific interpretation when evaluating angle configuration across imaging modalities.

- Association Between 24-Hour Intraocular Pressure Fluctuation and Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness Measured by Optical Coherence Tomography. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 16. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher IOPF was associated with thinner global RNFL thickness measured by SD-OCT. This finding corroborates a potential role for IOP fluctuation as a risk factor for structural loss in glaucoma.

- Factors Associated with Progressive Peripapillary Perfusion Density Reduction on Optical Microangiography in Primary Open-angle Glaucoma. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: Greater peripapillary PD at baseline and faster RNFL thinning during follow-up were significantly associated with a faster rate of PD loss in POAG patients. Therefore, PD at baseline should be considered while evaluating progressive PD loss in POAG patients.

- Trabeculectomy Outcomes With Standard Postoperative Topical Steroids Versus Intraoperative Depot Corticosteroid. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 15. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: Complete success is more likely to be obtained in the Drop group but overall success was high and similar in the two groups. These results suggest that TAC and an abbreviated steroid schedule is a viable alternative to the more intense traditional drop regimen, particularly in patients who might not be able to follow an intense post-operatory drop schedule due to dexterity issues, inconvenience or poor compliance.

- Glaucoma after Pars Plana Vitrectomy for Retinopathy of Prematurity and Vitreous Haemorrhage in Children. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 15. [Online ahead of print]JG
- The purpose of this brief report is to report on the outcome of glaucoma management in children after pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) in Alexandria Main University hospital. The Medical records of children presenting with glaucoma after PPV were reviewed. Data extracted included patients' demographic data, antenatal, natal and postnatal history, indication for PPV and surgical details, details of gla…

- Trabeculectomy After Ahmed Glaucoma Valve Implantation Versus Repeat Trabeculectomy. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 15. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: TRAB after AGV implantation achieved similar postoperative outcomes to those of repeat TRAB, supporting its role as a potential secondary option in intractable glaucoma treatment. Early postoperative IOP is a favorable prognostic marker, highlighting the importance of stabilizing IOP during this period.

- Case Report :Serous Retinal Detachment Following Bleb Needling. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 13. [Online ahead of print]JG
- Transconjunctival bleb needling is a relatively simple and effective procedure used to restore aqueous humor outflow in failing trabeculectomy blebs. Although generally considered safe, several complications have been reported, including bleb leakage, hypotony, and choroidal effusion. We report a case of non-rhegmatogenous serous retinal detachment following transconjunctival bleb needling in a 5…

- Glaucoma Blindness and Visual Impairment in India: Findings from National Blindness Survey. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: There is a significant burden of vision impairment and blindness caused by glaucoma in India, which needs redressal through policy and programmatic interventions.

- Comparison of Compass and Humphrey Perimetry: Test-Retest Variability at Glaucomatous Scotoma edges. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: CMP and HFA show comparable variability at scotoma borders with 24-2 VF testing, indicating no significant advantage of CMP eye tracking in reducing scotoma edge variability.

- Surgical Options for Glaucoma Patients with Failed Glaucoma Drainage Devices: A Systematic Review. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: After GDD failure, several surgical options exist. SGDD remains the most studied for IOP reduction but possibly carries higher complication rates. CPC likely offers comparable efficacy with fewer reoperations, though chronic hypotony risk warrants caution. Trabeculectomy arises as a promising option in selected patients. Evidence remains limited by retrospective designs and variable success definitions.

- Clinical and Anterior Segment OCT Predictors of Intraocular Pressure After Phacoemulsification in Eyes with Prior Trabeculectomy. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 08. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: IOP elevation after phacoemulsification in post-trabeculectomy eyes was associated with lower IOP and greater bleb height before phacoemulsification, as well as with a shorter trabeculectomy-phacoemulsification interval.

- Preoperative Factors Correlating With Intraocular Pressure Reduction after Phacoemulsification in Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma: A Cohort Study. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 06. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: Preoperative SS-OCT-based anatomical parameters correlated significantly with IOP reduction after phacoemulsification in PACG. The derived LDF based on these parameters may help predict IOP reduction, and guide clinicians in deciding which PACG patients may need additional IOP-lowering procedures combined with phacoemulsification.

- Home Tonometry in Glaucoma: Physician and Patient Perspectives on Indications, Benefits, and Barriers to Wider Implementation. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: HT was generally valued by physicians and patients, increasing physician confidence and positively influencing patient well-being. Broader integration remains limited by patient financial barriers and physician skepticism about device reliability and patient proficiency. Further research on outcomes of HT use versus non-use may help address these limitations.

- Time-Efficient Visual Field Testing Using the Imo Visual Function Analyzer in Glaucoma. [Journal Article]J Glaucoma. 2026 Jul 08. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: AIZE EX considerably reduced test time. Test results of AIZE EX strongly correlated with those of AIZE, but AIZE EX showed slightly higher sensitivity values. These results show AIZE EX effectively reduces test time without significantly compromising measurement accuracy, potentially reducing patient fatigue and improving acceptance of the test.

- CONCLUSIONS: PhNR effectively detected inner retinal dysfunction across the pseudoexfoliation spectrum and showed a progressive decrease from controls to PXS and PXG. PhNR may serve as a valuable adjunctive biomarker for risk stratification and early detection of glaucomatous transformation in PXS.
