- Metabolic Tumor Volume as a Predictor of Benefit From Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation in Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer. [Journal Article]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Aug 13; :1-9. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Baseline PET-derived MTV serves as a clinically relevant predictor of PCI benefit in LS-SCLC, supporting a risk-adapted PCI strategy guided by metabolic imaging biomarkers. This approach may reduce unnecessary neurotoxicity and optimize treatment outcomes and should be prospectively validated.

- Technology-Enabled Patient and Physician Activation to Enhance Skin Cancer Screening After HCT: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Aug 06; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Remotely delivered interventions improved skin cancer screening among HCT survivors. Patient activation substantially increased SSE, whereas physician activation provided additional benefit for physician-performed skin examinations. These findings suggest that physician activation enhances clinician-performed screening and supports scalable survivorship care models for high-risk populations.

- CONCLUSIONS: This multicenter initiative demonstrated that structured EHR tools, paired with institutional engagement and behavioral strategies, can improve documentation of GOCCs in oncology. Variation in implementation across sites highlights the importance of local adaptation and sustained programmatic support in driving meaningful practice change.

- Impact of Tumor Multifocality on Outcomes Following Resection of Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Implications for Future Staging Systems. [Journal Article]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Jul 23; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Multifocality independently predicts poor prognosis in resectable iCCA. Refining the current staging system by reclassifying multifocal tumors as T3 may improve prognostic stratification and better inform treatment sequencing.

- CONCLUSIONS: Patients achieving durable DMR can safely discontinue therapy with rigorous monitoring. TFR attempts remain viable even under nonoptimal conditions, provided that adequate DMR duration and close monitoring are maintained.

- CONCLUSIONS: Our analysis suggests that despite the superior efficacy of amivantamab-lazertinib and osimertinib + chemotherapy, neither is cost-effective compared with osimertinib as first-line treatment for EGFR-mutated advanced lung cancer.

- The Philadelphia chromosome-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are a group of heterogenous hematologic malignancies characterized by the proliferation of blood cells and consist of myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera, and essential thrombocythemia. The NCCN Guidelines for MPN were developed as a result of meetings convened by a multidisciplinary panel with expertise in MPN, with the aim of …

- What is Optimal Neoadjuvant Therapy in HER2-Positive Breast Cancer? [Review]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Jul; 24(7).JN
- HER2-positive breast cancer accounts for approximately 15%-20% of breast cancers and was historically associated with poor outcomes. The introduction of HER2-targeted therapies has significantly improved prognosis, particularly in the treatment of early-stage disease. Neoadjuvant HER2-directed therapy combined with chemotherapy is the standard of care for patients with stage II and III HER2-posit…

- Multitarget Stool DNA Versus Fecal Immunochemical Testing: A National Assessment of Follow-Up Colonoscopy by Race and Ethnicity. [Journal Article]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Jul; 24(7).JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Timely completion of colonoscopy after a noninvasive test is critical, as failure to undergo colonoscopy or delays in completion are associated with increased CRC incidence and more advanced-stage disease. These findings demonstrate that mt-sDNA use may help close CRC screening disparity gaps compared with FIT testing. FU-CY adherence is higher, and time to colonoscopy is shorter following a positive mt-sDNA test versus FIT across all racial and ethnic subgroups.

- Prognostic Role of PD-L1 in Penile Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Journal Article]J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2026 Jul 09; :1-7. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis, representing the largest pooled cohort to date, shows that PD-L1 expression is associated with adverse outcomes and greater tumor aggressiveness in PSCC. These findings support further evaluation of PD-L1 as a prognostic biomarker in PSCC and highlight the need for standardized assessment methods.
