  • Profiling Dectin-2-Positive Tumor-Associated Macrophages Across Human Cancers by Immunohistochemistry. [Journal Article]
    Lab Invest. 2026 Jul 30; :106155. [Online ahead of print]Ptacek J, Lin T, … Xu LLI
  • CONCLUSIONS: Dectin-2 expression was observed in subsets of tumor-associated macrophages across multiple human cancers, with relatively enriched expression in NSCLC, melanoma, HNC, TNBC, and CRC. To our knowledge, this study represents the first broad protein-level characterization of Dectin-2 across multiple human tumor types, identifies cancers with relatively enriched Dectin-2-positive macrophage infiltration, and provides a foundation for future translational studies of Dectin-2-targeted therapies.
  • Tumor Immune Microenvironment and Clinicopathological Characteristics of Thoracic NUT Carcinoma. [Journal Article]
    Lab Invest. 2026 Jul 10; 106(9):106153. [Online ahead of print]Wang K, Cai X, … Li YLI
  • CONCLUSIONS: Primary thoracic NUT carcinoma exhibits significant pathological and immune microenvironmental heterogeneity, which was first described, as evidenced by the identification of a novel YAP1::NUTM1 fusion and diverse immune cell infiltrates. This heterogeneity warrants further investigation because it may inform prognostic stratification and the development of immune-targeted therapies.
  • Analytical Sensitivity and HER2-Low: To Measure or Not to Measure, That Is the Question. [Editorial]
Lab Invest. 2026 Jun 11; 106(8):106144. [Online ahead of print]Torlakovic EELI
  • Analytical sensitivity is a fundamental property of all biomarker assays, yet its relationship to the diagnostic and clinical sensitivity of immunohistochemistry biomarkers has only recently begun to be defined. Nationwide Dutch comparison of HER2 immunohistochemistry performance reported a significant correlation between the lower limit of detection (LOD) and staining intensity in low-expressing…
