  • Efficacy and safety of adjuvant ensartinib in stage I ALK-positive NSCLC patients: a retrospective, multicenter study. [Journal Article]
    Lung Cancer. 2026 Oct 09; 222:109649. [Online ahead of print]Gao Z, Zheng J, … Wang MLC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Exploratory analyses suggested an association between adjuvant ensartinib and favorable DFS outcomes in stage I ALK-positive NSCLC patients exhibiting high-risk pathological features. A favorable safety profile was also observed. For patients without high-risk factors, the benefit of adjuvant ensartinib remains to be further clarified. These findings are hypothesis-generating and support further prospective evaluation of risk-adapted adjuvant ALK-TKI therapy in stage I ALK-positive NSCLC.
  • Lung cytology in the diagnostic workflow: A real-world study of its clinical impact. [Journal Article]
    Lung Cancer. 2026 Nov; 221:109643.Maffei E, Ciaparrone C, … Caputo ALC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Cytological samples provided an independent diagnostic and predictive contribution in more than 20% of cases. It also supported histological findings in a further 43.7% of patients, making it clinically informative in nearly two-thirds of patients. Although its performance varied according to specimen type, combining multiple sampling strategies significantly improved diagnostic yield. These findings highlight the continued value of cytology and support its broader integration into contemporary lung cancer diagnostic algorithms.
  • Lung cancer after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. [Multicenter Study]
    Lung Cancer. 2026 Nov; 221:109633.Rost M, Wehr C, … Acker FLC
  • CONCLUSIONS: In our study, ICI-based therapies were associated with prolonged survival in selected patients with advanced NSCLC and presumed host immune tolerance. We did not observe a clear signal of excess irAEs/GvHD. Our results support considering the use of ICIs in this population.
  • More than a risk factor: alcohol use following diagnosis in non-small cell lung cancer patients. [Journal Article]
Lung Cancer. 2026 Nov; 221:109635.Ellis SE, Shields PG, … Andersen BLLC
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the first longitudinal evidence on alcohol use following NSCLC diagnosis. Alcohol use declined substantially after diagnosis, but reductions were not sustained, underscoring the need for continued assessment throughout survivorship. Future studies are needed to understand the impact of post-diagnosis alcohol use on outcomes and develop evidence-based guidance for patient care.
