- Revisiting the humidity correction - A challenge to the current consensus. [Journal Article]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70697.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: Measurements using modern instrumentation indicate that the humidity dependence of k h and the corresponding relative W -value for Co-60 beam quality differ slightly from the long-standing consensus established in ICRU Report 31. Although these differences are of minor importance for practical dosimetry, they may be relevant to primary air-kerma standards. The present results suggest that primary standard laboratories may re-evaluate their uncertainty budgets in light of these findings.

- Expanding dose and dose-rate capabilities of a synchrotron-based pre-clinical proton FLASH irradiation platform. [Journal Article]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70695.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: This modular beamline redesign significantly expands the achievable dose and dose-rate combinations of a synchrotron-based proton irradiation platform without requiring accelerator modifications. The system enables 42 reproducible dose and dose-rate configurations with single-spill delivery, providing a flexible framework for systematic investigation of dose-rate-dependent radiobiological proton FLASH effects.

- Radiogenomic inference of transcription factor regulatory architecture associated with a high-risk CT phenotype in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. [Journal Article]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70694.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: A CT radiomics-defined poor-prognosis phenotype in NSCLC is associated with coherent transcriptomic programs and an interpretable TF regulatory architecture. This framework links routine imaging phenotypes to latent tumor-control programs and supports regulatory-state-informed therapeutic hypothesis generation.

- Multimodal PET/MRI radiomics model for the classification of Alzheimer's disease and other dementia subtypes: A multicenter study. [Multicenter Study]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70690.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: Hippocampus-based PET/MRI radiomics models showed promising performance for binary AD classification, with further improvement achieved by the MCDM strategy. The five-class findings should be regarded as exploratory. External validation provides preliminary support for the reduced 3DT1-Aβ PET model and does not establish the generalizability of the complete six-modality framework.

- Deep learning-based CNN method for fiducial marker detection in kilovoltage X-ray images for liver tumor motion monitoring. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: A CNN-based method for fiducial marker detection in the liver was developed and evaluated on multi-institutional kV X-ray images spanning free-breathing and breath-hold motion, as well as Varian and Elekta linac platforms. The method satisfied the predefined feasibility criteria for positional accuracy and computation time, supporting future translation toward clinical implementation.

- Direct spatial convolution for pencil beam dose calculation and feasibility of dij-free IMRT optimization on GPU. [Journal Article]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70689.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: Pencil beam kernel convolution can be formulated as Conv2d spatial convolution with machine-precision equivalence to FFT and competitive speed. The spatial-domain formulation enables a differentiable, dij-free optimization workflow that recomputes dose without storing a dose-influence matrix and that, for short optimization runs, is competitive with the traditional FFT-built sparse dij pipeline.

- Measurement-anchored Monte Carlo prediction of diagnostic x-ray air kerma using HVL-matched spectra and per-electron normalization. [Journal Article]Med Phys. 2026 Oct; 53(10):e70679.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: Within the tested radiographic system and slab-transmission geometries, HVL-matched spectra combined with measurement-anchored per-electron normalization enabled prediction of air kerma under actual exposure conditions. Despite differences in the MC air-kerma tallies expressed per source photon, the final predicted values were generally consistent with measurements in both codes under the tested conditions.
