CONCLUSIONS: PACU-initiated early oral fluid intake appears feasible and was associated with reduced PONV in appropriately selected adults after general anaesthesia. Evidence for secondary outcomes remains limited by heterogeneity and risk of bias. Larger, standardized trials are needed to define optimal timing and volume and to strengthen evidence for patient-reported and recovery outcomes.

CONCLUSIONS: This study identifies a decline in publication volume alongside increased citation activity in high impact anesthesiology and intensive care medicine journals, largely driven by the dominance of clinical studies and a growing prevalence of meta-analyses and registry studies, suggesting a shift in research priorities. Reduced publication numbers likely result from increasing journal selectivity and redistribution of research output toward open-access and non-specialty journals. The country ranking is dominated by the USA and other English-speaking nations, which can be attributed to the English-language literature analyzed. However, smaller nations like Denmark and Switzerland lead in population-based ranking, revealing critical insights into research infrastructure and institutional support.

CONCLUSIONS: TEAS-assisted general anesthesia significantly improves perioperative outcomes in orthopedic surgery patients by enhancing hemodynamic stability, reducing medication needs, mitigating stress responses, decreasing pain, and preserving cognitive function, while increasing satisfaction and lowering adverse reactions. Further prospective studies are needed to validate these findings.

CONCLUSIONS: During HPI-guided care, preserved arterial pressure frequently coexists with sustained preload-dependent hemodynamic signals. These findings describe patterns of pressure and preload-related signal behavior during algorithm-guided hemodynamic management and should be interpreted as hypothesis-generating.

CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of POD was greater in patients with hepatic steatosis than in those without hepatic steatosis after hepatectomy. Whether preoperative optimization of liver status (e.g., a reduction in hepatic steatosis) can reduce the incidence of POD remains to be determined.
