- The regnase family in autoimmune diseases: a regnase-1-centered perspective on cellular heterogeneity. [Review]
- The Regnase family comprises RNA-binding endoribonucleases that control immune responses by regulating the stability of inflammation-associated messenger RNA (mRNA). Evidence is most extensive for Regnase-1, whereas the other family members differ in cellular distribution, RNA substrates, and contributions across disease stages. Regnase activity is shaped by the timing of ribonuclease inactivatio…

- The therapeutic potential of melatonin: Focus on the SIRT1 signaling pathway. [Review]
- Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) is a pleiotropic indoleamine involved in diverse physiological and cellular processes and has consequently been investigated in numerous disease models. This molecule is primarily produced in the pineal gland and is well-known for its diverse functions including antitumor, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antihypertensive, and sedative effects. It is also in…

- Integrative transcriptomic and machine learning analysis identifies candidate biomarkers and immune features in diabetic ulcers. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings identify a candidate biomarker panel for DU and connect its transcriptomic pattern with immune remodeling, cell-specific expression, and impaired wound repair. Further validation in larger human cohorts is required before clinical application.

- How extracellular vesicles contribute to pulmonary fibrosis: miRNA-mediated mechanisms, diagnostic potential, and emerging therapeutic strategies. [Review]
- Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a progressive interstitial lung disease driven by excessive fibroblast activation and extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition, for which pirfenidone and nintedanib slow but do not halt disease progression. Extracellular vesicles (EVs)-lipid bilayer-enclosed nanoparticles that shuttle microRNAs (miRNAs), proteins, and lipids between cells-are increasingly recognized as imp…

- Transient peak of p53 induction persists at low radiation doses in MCF-7 cells. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The results extend the knowledge on p53 dynamics down to 0.1 Gy. They challenge the previous models that predicted the absence of oscillations at low radiation doses.

- GSDME upregulation predicts poor prognosis in gastric cancer. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that GSDME may serve as a prognostic biomarker in GC and as a potential immune regulator.

- Ormeloxifene, a non-steroidal selective estrogen receptor modulator induces senescence in breast cancer cells. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, these findings suggest that ORM restrains tumor progression by promoting irreversible senescence. The combination of ORM and tamoxifen may represent a potential therapeutic strategy for tamoxifen-resistant breast tumors.

- CSN3 promotes colorectal cancer cell progression through activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: CSN3 promotes malignant CRC cell phenotypes partly through AKT signaling, with CSN1S1 contributing to CSN3-mediated AKT activation and tumor-promoting effects, suggesting potential prognostic relevance in CRC.

- Platelet activation and eicosanoid signaling in ovarian cancer: implications for biomarker development. [Review]
- Ovarian cancer remains one of the most lethal gynecological malignancies worldwide due to late-stage diagnosis, poor prognosis, and frequent chemoresistance. The limited sensitivity and specificity of current diagnostic approaches, particularly for early-stage disease, highlight the urgent need for improved biomarkers and diagnostic strategies. Nowadays, ovarian cancer diagnostics are based mainl…

- DNA damage response associated miRNA dysregulation in Ataxia-telangiectasia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this fibroblast panel, miR-34a-5p and miR-26a-5p showed the most consistent baseline alterations, whereas bleomycin responsiveness was cell-line specific and heterogeneous.

- Salivary miRNAs along with p53 and EGFR in oral exfoliated cells: a pilot study on candidate noninvasive biomarkers for the early detection of oral cancer in tobacco users. [Journal Article]Mol Biol Rep. 2026 Sep 30; 53(1).MB
- CONCLUSIONS: The results of this pilot study suggest that combined salivary miR-31-5p and oral exfoliated-cell EGFR expression is a candidate biomarker panel for noninvasive screening in high-risk tobacco users. Given the small, single-cohort design, these preliminary, hypothesis-generating findings require validation in larger, independent cohorts before clinical application.

- Anatomical sampling site is not associated with TAS2R38 gene expression in chronic rhinosinusitis: A cross-sectional RT-qPCR study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Mucosal TAS2R38 mRNA expression shows no statistically significant association with anatomical sampling site in surgical CRS, with transcript variability driven predominantly by between-patient biological differences. These findings provide translational evidence supporting the potential utility of inferior turbinate biopsy as a pragmatic, accessible surrogate for investigating sinonasal chemosensory innate defense.
