- Maternal mid-pregnancy metabolic profiles and growth trajectories across the first 36 months of life in a UK multi-ethnic birth cohort. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Metabolomic profiles in mid-pregnancy, especially lipoproteins, characterize observed offspring growth in different directions and/or strengths in various growth trajectories from birth to 36 months of age.

- Functional Characterization of CYP26B1 Short Isoform as a Novel Locus for Obesity in Indigenous Americans From Arizona. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: Alleles carrying these three variants may have reduced expression of CYP26B1 TV3 which in turn influences RA signaling and adipocyte metabolism, providing a possible mechanistic link between CYP26B1 variation and BMI.

- Effects of Orbitofrontal Cortex tDCS on Cognitive Control in Individuals With Obesity: A Randomized Sham-Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: Unlike what has been reported in lean individuals, a single session of OFC-targeted tDCS is insufficient to modify cognitive control in individuals with obesity. However, the cognitive effects of a single session of OFC stimulation depend on individual neurocognitive characteristics in obesity.

- Interdisciplinary Weight Management in a Safety-Net Health System: A Pilot Implementation Study. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 19. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: LA VIDA was feasible and acceptable and improved patient-reported behaviors and outcomes in a safety-net setting. These findings support it as an effective model for integrated obesity care that combines lifestyle, behavioral, and pharmacologic treatment in the safety net.

- Metabolic health is a stronger determinant than obesity for cardiovascular disease incidence: a meta-analysis of longitudinal cohort studies. [Review]
- Overweight and obesity are established risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), yet heterogeneity in metabolic health among individuals with varied body mass index (BMI) complicates risk assessment. This systematic-review and meta-analysis of cohort studies investigated the risk of combined BMI-metabolic health phenotypes in relation to CVDs. PubMed and Scopus were searched up to January …

- Obesity Increases Cardiovascular Strain During Passive Whole-Body Heat Stress in Middle-Aged Women. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 16. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: Increased adiposity may contribute to greater cardiovascular risk during extreme heat exposure in middle-aged women.

- Adipose tissue transcriptome before and after surgery: effects on genes driving lipid metabolism, inflammation, and RNA processing. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate SAT and VAT remodeling in obesity and show that MBS partially reverses transcriptional changes in SAT, providing mechanistic insight into its metabolic benefits. They also highlight the need for targeted therapeutic strategies to more fully restore adipose tissue function and improve long-term metabolic outcomes.

- Understanding pathophysiology of gallstone disease: a multi-omic analysis focused on adult women with obesity. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This integrated multi-omics analysis suggests that visceral adipose tissue may play a more prominent role in gallstone disease pathophysiology in women with obesity than previously appreciated. The observed selective molecular alterations and persistent bile acid differences highlight the complex metabolic interplay underlying gallstone formation and provide insight into tissue-specific mechanisms associated with obesity-related gallstone disease.

- Update of Korean Medicine Clinical Practice Guidelines for Obesity Management: An Evidence-Based GRADE Approach. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 15. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: The update of the KMCPGs underscores the clinical value of KM interventions in obesity management while emphasizing the need for further high-quality studies to strengthen the evidence. Addressing implementation barriers and ensuring regular guideline updates are essential for optimizing clinical application and improving patient outcomes in obesity care.

- Long-Term Impact of Bariatric Surgery and Dietary Interventions on Weight Loss, Physical Activity, and Food Preferences. [Journal Article]Obesity (Silver Spring). 2026 Oct 14. [Online ahead of print]O
- CONCLUSIONS: Interventions demonstrated biphasic dietary and behavioral adaptation. Surgical procedures produced durable energy restriction and weight loss despite modest long-term changes in dietary composition and physical activity.

- Effect of vitamin D supplementation on serum vitamin D levels and health outcomes in pediatric population with obesity/overweight: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Vitamin D supplementation in children with overweight /obesity correct the deficiency and significantly raise Vitamin D levels with no adverse events. To assess effective therapies to enhance metabolic and cardiovascular outcomes in the pediatric population with overweight/obesity, new trials should be conducted.

- Physical activity during pregnancy and the risks of excessive gestational weight gain and large-for-gestational-age: a dose-response meta-analysis of observational studies. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher levels of physical activity were associated with a reduced risk of EGWG and LGA. A linear dose-response relationship between physical activity and EGWG was observed overall, particularly during the third trimester, highlighting the importance of maintaining adequate physical activity throughout pregnancy.

- Disrupted daily rhythms in light exposure and wrist temperature are associated with metabolic risk markers and obesity. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this large real-life cohort, less robust daily rhythms of light exposure and wrist temperature were consistently associated with adverse metabolic profiles. These findings highlight the potential of circadian-related markers derived from wearable technologies as non-invasive indicators of metabolic risk.
